Increased Idle on 1.6 Petrol SC

Noticed recently that Idle speed is going up to 1000rpm, then dropping back to 750rpm. It appears to be fine for 20-30 mins, idling at the 750 mark, but then I roll up to a junction or stationary traffic, and its gone up to 1000. 5 mins later its back to 750.
Engine is warm, and A/C can be on or off, makes no difference.
Anyone else seen this on a Petrol engine ?

That usually hapens when engine is cooling itself, fan goes on and it needs more power.

If it's happening when rolling up to a junction, it's probably a road speed sensor keeping the revs up until you fully stop.

This happened on my 1.2, I took mine into the stealers, they did a ECU update, as there was a thing about the clutch being depressed before coming to a stop after a "spirited drive" , so the revs idled higer for 5-10 seconds (mine idled around 1200 - 1500 revs.) Once the ECU update is performed, the revs are restored to normal.

Mines does it too. There does not seem to be any reason for it. Seems to sort itself after half hour.

How are you getting on with the car?

The 1.6 oil burners idle at about 1K when very cold, when warm at a stand still its 750, warm at 1K as you say its a regen, also its a lumpy idle.
