Indicator flashes on lock/unlock...

Hi guys

My indicators flash when I unlock the car using the fob, but dont flash anymore when I lock the car - it use to. What can I do to have this feature back again?

HAS the car been plugged in to VAGCOM / VCDS recently ?

The indicators flashing with alarm on/off is a VCDS/VAGCOM activated feature.

Could also be that there is a faulty switch on one of the doors so the car thinks it's open. It will only flash/beep if all doors are detected shut and locked.

Yes it has been actually, so maybe he switched it off accidentally or something.

Both doors lock when I arm it, just no lights flash to say so.

Mine did this for about 3 days a while ago, then just started working again!
Just wait and see if it comes back on I would say

Could always disconnect battery for a couple of mintues and see if it resets something ?

Make sure you have the radio code though !

Its been like this for months now thinking about it.

The battery has been disconnected few times recently due to work on the engine so thats not reset anything, itll have to go to the dealer for them to have a look with their computer i reckon.

As for the stereo, oh its not the standard unit in there anymore

mine did this when the car was still in warrenty so took it into SEAT and they said they couldnt find anything wrong with it.....however, when the mechanic was playing around with the wiring loom it started to work again, so looks like it could be an intermittant fault?

Yes it may be locked but if the car thinks that it is still unlocked then it won't flash.

The flash is a confirmation to say that all doors locked etc.
