Hey guys and girls been looking around trying to find out the answer to my question with no luck. Found a thread showing you how to get the airbox off but no information on what the diameter of the hole is to the engine from the box.

Wondering if anyone could let me know what size this is as i'm costing up getting an induction kit for my ibiza. I know its only a 1.4 so only going to see minimal performance increases but it is going to be one of a few performance mods to come as my new goal is the quickest mk5 1.4 n/a ibiza on the forum :p

Any help would be great as weather is pants so not keen on pulling apart the engine with it raining :p

Jake what have you done to reach 95BHP lol? Mines still a mere 85BHP but wanting to increase performance. Pref not a remap due to the minimial increase for money.

When I measured it I believe it was 76mm diameter. I was looking to build a kit using ITG parts.

Got the pics of when I took mine off if you need them too bud.

Really will need to do a lot to do that, remember the old 1.6 N/As are rated at 105 bhp as standard :(

Ok on the throught of ur wanting more power out of ur 1.4

It will cost quite a few penny's and most people will say its a waste but I don't think so my mate turbo charged his 1.2 corsa so why not try and get more power out of what ever engine u have got.

Any way what I was goin to say was where I woul start with what ur trying to do

Step one...induction kit (inclosed) system or cone with very good cold feed

Step two... Decat pipe and with full custom made exhaust (powerflow)

Step three... Eco tech valve I have had and was worth the £50 helpes when u have an induction kit and exhaust link below
http://www.ecotekshop.co.uk/shop/

Step four... Bigger fuel pump higher flowing injectors

Step five... Custom remap with the above all added in and u should see some very good gains tobehoest

I hope this helps apart from the above ur talking these type things..... bored out heads
Custom built inlet and exhaust manifolds ports polished. Light Waight custom flywheels and all engine pullys. Removal of aircon units and overall waight loss on the car :) good luck with this adventure through

I was trying to get as close to my mates 175 bhp turbo 1.2 but I was no where near I decide to just get a bigger engine lmao.

I like n/a engine things just seem so much simpler :)

An induction kit on a 1.4 n/a engine by its self would make minaml diffrance if any at all by its self it's more of a serporting base modd my list I added above is what u need to be heading towards to actually make any diffrance to a n/a engine but them modds will set u back about a grand in total.

So I. Other words if ur not planning of going that far induction kits and exhausts are more for nosie and show hope this helps...

I went down this route when I had an mg zr 1.4. I could have bottom end bored out etc and would put it from 105 to 150 bit the cost was about £2000

I decided the only option was rip the 1.4 out 2.0 t series turbo in. All in cost me around £600
