Look in the FAQs section and read the PD160/Green cotton filter thread. Lots of folks on here run this setup instead of an induction kit. As do I! You can mod your airbox and see similar gains to an induction kit TBH.

Don't know of many people who have inductions kits because of where the airbox it it would just suck in more hot air, they sound ace had one before on my last petrol car. But not much point in sucking in hot air IMO so I went with the PD160 larger air intake and green cotton panel filter cost £80 including delivery.

I've went from a Green Panel filter and smoothed airbox to a open cone filter and I much prefer the open cone filter.

I'm not sure about getting a cone filter..the full Milltek makes quite alot of noise already and don't want it to be over the top

....id like my car mapped first as i put a filter on my old car and could get it to bang (explode) in the cat or manifold and i dont think it done it any good.

Thats just not going to happen with any vag engine mate. My car was mapped with standard DV, airbox and filter on.

With TIP and smoothed airbox the turbo whistle sounded louder but with the open cone everything sounds much better.

nice one cheers,it wasnt a vag engine but i believe it broke up the cells in the cat eventually as the power would pause somtimes at certain revs. that is reasureing to know though although i didnt expect it on my old car it did take along time to happen but i beleive what your saying to be true

Sounds like it may have been over-fuelling. But as Damo says, it won't happen in a VAG turbo-ed engine. Too many sensors to stop that ;)
