Arosa 1.4tdi - filter needs replacing anyway so i was thinking of going for one of these,

You might be better off buying a green cotton air filter as opposed to an induction kit as you wont get much more BHP for your money. I looked at getting an induction kit for my arosa but, It wouldve meant far too much cutting of the air filter and engine cover to get it all in. Looks ok though :)

thanks for the advice (and money saving), think i'll go for a Green filter as you advise, then start looking at the "sloppy" suspension, why can't i just buy a car and leave it alone .............

 i bought it to save money for my journey to and from work as my other car does about 18mpg, this little thing is returning around 60 and i've fallen in love with it !! it was supposed to be just a money saver but i have a feeling she is going to get spoilt ........

They have great character for such a small car :D and are easy to spend pennies on as it gives you a real sense of satisfaction when you do something different to everyone else.

DITTO!!! My Supra gets 16-18mpg. What do you have? I also got the Arosa as a 'get to work' car and now getting megastick from my mates cos I've been spending loads modding it :p

With induction kits like that i have heard problems with the MAF being screwed up, might not help the running of the car or fuel economy, unless you have the engine remapped. Perhaps like GreenGoddess said get a replacement filter, i also hear the K&N replacments are pretty good

You're spot on tomo but its usually k&n and other oil impregnated filters that do the screwing up. If you have a bit too much oil on them, the oil mists onto the MAF and destroys it very quickly. I prefer Apexi dry filters myself though you can't get a kit for the arosa. You would have to make an adapter which isn't too hard :)
