info on remap

i ave just been on jabbasports web site and it said they remap 1.8t 2001 onwards, but i own a 2000 x. can anyone help?

it'll be a typo. they can do your car.

ours has been mapped by jabba and ours is a 2000 X, infact they can get more power out the earlier AQX motor than they can the later motor in most circumstances...

aren't all Ibiza's AYP?? I thought it was only golfs and some other VW's that had different engine codes between years. All Ibiza's as far as I know are DBW

Nope not all Ibizas are Ayp. The earlier code to Ayp is said to make more power as has been said.

i think this was proven a while back to be tosh, the earlier aqx had to be mapped differently, but provided the same power/torque as the ayp

Did'nt the AQX engine have bigger valves than the AYP,thus resulting in slightly higher gains when remapped.

hmmm, well i'm confused, ours is a 2000 X and it's definately DBW, AFAIK X was the earliest of the Cupra Mk3's....

Drive By Wire, as in no physical connection (i.e. cable) between the gas pedal and the throttle body itself...

i thought all mk3 cupra's were but it seems i may be worng (see above) however if you remove the plastic engine cover have a look at the RHS of the inlet manifold, if you don't see a traditional throttle cable, and just a black plastic cover then its safe to say its DBW, like i said though, i thought all beeza cupra's were anyway
