I am picking my 1.8 t FR up tomorrow, and the only reason i got insured is because i swapped the ins over from my old car, and norwich union direct didnt want to lose my custom, so pulled a few strings, or so i am told by my friend who works for NUD.

(i am 19, and also heard you have to be 21).
exactly the same as me but renewed it and they didnt say a thing i think if your young and want to be insured go to nu with a cheap car insure it then swap for a faster one and amend your policly lol

Before you complain about insurance try moving to N.I.

I'd be over the moon if a company quoted me around £1k

EDIT i've got a quote for when i'm 21 next month at under £700, so i'm fecking over the moon YEEE HAW

I love the way this thread has been resurrected from over a year ago lol!!!!

If it is any help for you all I work for Esure which underwrites the policies for;

Esure
Halifax
First Alternative
Sheilas Wheels
Sainsburies

To insure a Ibiza Fr 1.8 petrol you need to be 23 or over for all products!

Im 21 and staff member and they wouldn't insure me for mine, so I went to elephant.co.uk !!!!!

The misses just asked, why can't students get insured by esure?

Ps, if you want cheap insurance look in the back of max power and ring all of the companies, each time tell them your insurance is 100 pounds cheaper than it is. they will try and match it. get the quote, ring someone else and do the same.

Some good companies to try are:-

Hastings
Performance Direct
Adrian Flux

Also you could always buy a family car 4-5 doors with a large engine.....

One of my mates has a BMW 530, it's as quick as my Cupra.

wooohooo...just been quoted 590 on my cupra :D yay - need to check out the details first tho ... :( that's with **********....

We can insure students you just need to give them a phone, can't do it online.

Students are mainly young/inexperienced drivers and are risks esure doesn't want to cover. So its not being a 'student' thats not accepted, just the age/experience. If you are a student above the age restriction then its fine.

For esure; Men - Over 21 with at least 1 years NCD.
Women - Over 19 with at least 1 years NCD.

Again, Girls are trusted as safer drivers than us Guys, Grrrr, and we all know its not true....:p

i was payin £1800 last year on my cupra 20vt 21 with 1 yr ncb, just got my renewal through and its now £950 fully comp 22 with 2 yr ncb with admiral!
