All I'm saying is don't have ago someone for labling drivers of a certain car the lable said person yourself it hypercritical I agree with both side but pointing the finger and calling names is no way to put you point across just because someone words there veiws in a manner you don't agree with don't mean you can single them out and call the a child it's childish in itself that's my only argument everything else is down to opinion

I could never afford an R32 otherwise I would have one in a heart beat  I have owned an a4 tq and the feel/interior of it was a lot more premium feeling which i suppose makes sense when you compare prices like for like of audi/vw/seat

if you look at this thread in the same way you looked at the R32 owners thread, we do seem to be blowing things way out of proportion,

i think at worse one of the r32 owners called seat a lesser marque,

isnt that what it is? ;)

i love my leon, one of the best cars ive had, but test driving works pool 2008 audi a4 with 100K on the clock, it felt tighter than my 60k lc,

end of the day the R32 is a better quality car, different market, different breed of car,

its just nice to be able to show one up every once in a while as the underdog,,

Lc/LCR's only have three things really going for them, for being fairly quick nice handling cars, but you wouldnt of bought it if it wasnt quick,

its not alll about going fast, im 100% sure that everyone on this thread would snap up a reasonably priced r32, mk4's can be had for 7-8k now practically lcr prices

Hi, I've just bought an LCR. It was a well informed choice which I put alot of thought into and what swung it for me was the cost. I think this must be the same for most people on here, bang for buck the LCR is right up there.

Mine has been mapped and I'm loving the performance but I'd swap it for a mk4 R32 any day! Yes it might be slightly slower in a straight line (once rolling) but the R32 is the superior car and anyone who says different is kidding themselves.

A mate of mine has both a mk4 r32 and a mk5 r32 both with manual gearboxes and they drive beautifully.

He has also owned a S3 and a LCR does this class him as a t*&t?

Would swap mine without a second thought they are comfortable and classy looking motors.

I couldn't care what you think (Tongue in cheek) what I want to is how he has both?

Not that I am jealous at all....barsteward :cartman:

I don't think you can compare the two bcs:

Golf R32 is a V6 first of all, not a turbo car at all. It's also aimed at ppl who want more comfort than speed and from a car that looks like "everybody else". In Scandinavia the Golf has been THE most sold car last million years or so.

LCR looks more aggressive and has its focus on getting most drive-ability for the cash. Imo they did a great job at it.

The end.

Would much prefer my LCR to an R32 any day. It has that air of not being as common on the road
I followed a new Focus RS other day down carriageway I was 2up he was on his own and lets just say he never vanished like i expected. As for ST's they just get in the way lol although Police in Sussex have an R32 and ST as unmarked cars lucky sods!!!

I Havent read most of this thread but il have my two pence worth.
Before buying my LCR I was looking for something in the VAG category as im an Audi Tech and thought it would make sense, plus I was upgrading from a RS Turbo.
I initially wanted an S3 or R32 purely for the handling,They are absoloutly awesome on the twisties, and there are not a lot of cars in their class that will match them.
The biggest problem I found is that both the S3 and R32 were both slightly out of my budget unless I wanted a dog that had done millions of miles.
Then I got introduced to the LCR by a friend who has a mapped one and i knew I had to have one, and they were easily within my budget.

The R32 and S3 are awesome cars but in my opinion the LCR aint far behind, infact in regards for cost of purchase and modifying ability it has the slight upper hand, and as for build quality the s3 and LCR use the same dashboard.

Now i have my LCR i wouldnt even consider a S3 or R32. Ok so it doesnt have 4wd but its still handles really well in standard form and I feel it would definatley hold its own on a track.

And as far as im aware the RS3 will use the TTRS 2.5 5 cylinder. For anyone that hasnt driven one they are awesome and sound 10 times better than a R32. Shame about the price tag lol

With decent tyres, ARBs and suspension a LCR will cope on twisties
Otherwise 4 the money would get a Lotus lol
4 pure sound and performance 4 less than an R32 or S3 a 4lt V6 Tuscan S hard to beat on the sound think the exhaust cans help lol
When they are running sound awesome mate has one and its not broken down much
