Hi,

Last week I picked up my 2008 1.4 TSI Leon from a SEAT main dealer. I absolutely love the car, however I am concerned about a slight grinding noise when changing from 3rd to 2nd gear.

It seems only to happen when I am changing down gears when coming to a stop. It is very intermittent, only happening once this morning on my commute to work. Yesterday it happened a few times.

The other intermittent problem is every now and again I get a faint smell of petrol coming through the air vents.

Hope someone can shed some light on what might be the problem if any.

Cheers,

Tom.

Can't say I've noticed those issues with mine. The clutch bite is quite low so sometimes if I let the peddle up to quickly when changing years it will crunch, but this only happens occasionally. If it's from a SEAT dealer it should have some warranty to best to ask them to have a look :)

Cheers for the reply. As I have it only a few days, it may be that I'm still getting used to the clutch. It happened only once again this morning, and again coming from 3rd to 2nd, just a slight noise.

When the car is stationary I can flick through the gears with no issue. It seems so intermittent.
