iPod lead

I bought the BMW lead from eBay and I'm struggling to get it to work... I have plugged in my ipod and the USB lead into the socket underneath the drivers seat... and nothing! I've pressed the AUX button and the source button on the steering wheel and i'm not getting anywhere.

Do I need to plug the aux in as well as the USB cable? I dont think I have an aux socket...?

I Have the 2.1 media system and the USB and aux sockets are just forward of the gear stick. You have to connect them both to make it work

+1 - I think you need both connectors for that cable to work.

I took the cup holder out and found this lead in front of the gear stick...

Would anyone know if this is the lead for the USB and AUX socket? Would someone mind checking? Maybe I can just get hold of the sockets now....

I would hazard a guess that's the connector for the SEAT "CUP" interface? Probably has connections for power, control and sound.

FWIW I've just got myself this BMW lead which works perfectly; http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B004E5J61G/ref=oss_product and also managed to find this very tidy holder; http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B002JTWRN8/ref=oss_product which sits nicely in the cup holder just ahead of the gearstick. Takes a bit of manhandling to get it in the right position but it doesn't foul the dash or interfere with the gear shifting..
