Is it worth getting an ebay vag cable

Not working with windows7 64bit

As the title says, it came this morning, but the programme doesn't start I've tried tinkering about with admin settings but no joy. Anyone have any ideas?

Hi guys, I read that this cheap ebay cables can't reset faults. What do you think about this one?

Just search on Ebay for: "VAG COM Tacho 2.5 USB".

It does say it can read and WRITE EEPROM on nearly all Seats Does it means it can reset faults?

Right click the desktop icon, go into properties and select to run it in compatibility mode.

Also you can check and reset fault codes with an ebay cable, you just have to do each controller individually rather than a full scan.

You don't need VAG-TACHO to reset faults, the cheap ones will work fine. VAG-TACHO can do lots of other really juicy things, but is overkill for most people.
