I'm beginning to think my PD130 has been remapped.

To start with I had 3 or 4 attempts with the G-tech today and all my 0-60 times were in the mid - low 7s (with the best being 7.14). All my 1/4 mile times were in the low 15s @ 90+mph. This was with one passenger in the car and I'm not too good at starts.

I know the G-tech isn't 100% accurate but it was set-up correctly, and on previous cars and on mates cars I've found it to be quite accurate.

Also, a few days ago I had a little go with a Fabia vRS on the motorway (he was trying) and I pulled a significant length on him.

The car also seems to put a little bit more smoke out than other PD130s I've seen (nothing serious though).

I was wondering how else I can check if the car has been remapped? (I don't live near any other rolling roads, I havent had a go in another PD130 and I don't know anyone else with one)

Any help much appreciated.
Cheers - Alex

Just to add, the TCS intervenes a lot in 2nd gear when flooring it (not all the time but the majority of the time) and occasionaly even in 3rd, on roundabouts etc.

Is this normal for a PD130?

that would depend on tyres, get the car connected up to vagcom or fit a boost gauge as mentioned above, easiest way of telling.

Thats in the dry with almost brand new michelin pilots (< 2000 miles).

Thanks, I will probably buy a boost gauge.

michelin pilots have straight banded treads and are a hard compound so spinning them is easy, they are a little better in cornering though.

I'll pop over if you want with my remap on and see if you keep up :D

Boost guage wont necessarily tell you. Mine is remapped but running stock boost. Ive been in about 4 remapped 130's and think the best way to tell is:

Non Remapped:
Car accellerates with a foreceful push from the back of the seat, which remains quite constant all the way up to 4000rpm.

Remapped:
Car gives a massive shove at ~1900rpm, usually sending the tyres spinning (in a straight line - spinning round corners is cheating), the rest of the gear feels noticably slower as you're recovering from the initial shock

Once youve got it done, the difference is blatantly obvious. You get pushed into your seat quite hard indeed so long as the tyres grip, using the steeringwheel to keep you forward.

u mean holding on for dear life!!!

pmsl

i want jabba to remap mine.. does any one know is the £425 rolling road setup is a remap or a piggy back ecu... being a company car i aint ment to mod it but if its untraceable then ill go get it done :)
