Is this normal. My TEMP rises to half way on my lcr real quick even on a freezing morning. Its at the half way mark in maybe 3 mins and never seems to be any hotter or colder even if i boot it or its freezing out side. Does every one elses do this ?

Hi
Mine does exactly the same. Did you ever find out he answer to this as i've never had a car that gets to the normal operating temerature so quickly.
cheers

Its completely normal. The temp gauge signal comes from the ECU rather than the coolant temp sensor. It should sit in the middle when the ECU considers temp to be within operating norms. It won't fluctuate with small temperature changes even though the actual coolant temp does.

yep; my coolant temp gauge gets to 90 v.quickly; my aftermarket oil temp gauge however shows that the oil takes a good 8-10mins to get up to temp :)

In the colder winter weather it should be taking longer. Mine over the winter is taking about 10 mins at least to get to 90
Outside winter takes a few minutes only

Mine just takes normal time. On a cold morning, it'll start and run on the choke for a bit just above 1,000rpm, then drop to under 1,000rpm and takes about 5- 10mins on idle to start rising up to 90. I wouldn't say that was abnormal, been the same on all previous cars.

hi lads, does anyone know how hard it is to replace the temp sender - think I have the same problem as Faisal!

Cheers.

Magic, cheers fella - normally useless under the bonnet, but getting there slowly.
