is there a paint problem with ibiza? and what's nevada white?

Hi,
I'm thinking about buying a new ibize FR,
some salesman from VW warned me that Seat's cars tend to have color problems after a few years.

I've noticed that the VW polo comes with a 5 year paint warranty, but the ibiza only comes with 2 year, maybe that is an indicator?

also, can someone explain and show me the difference between nevada white and regular white?

btw, what do you think about the metal green color shown below? would that be a better choice then white?

long as you treat the paint right it last years and year.

And white or that green are the 2 best colors! i prefer the white very slightly

see the green in person looks much better then on pics

That's a load of crap the VW salesman is just trying to make a sale. The paint warranty varies from different manufacture's and only having 2 years instead of 5 is what allows Seat to sell the Ibiza cheaper than the Polo.

I live in a quiet sunny place, and the car would probably be parked at the sun most of the times.. as far as this is considered bad treatment, it's not really up to me.

also i guess that dust and scratches would show much more on the green, right?

yet, the green carries some sort of cooler younger spirit which i i like.

do you own a candy white? does it mean nevada white? what's the difference from the regular white?

by look after i mean wash it properly , get bird poo off tree sap etc... all the things that do real harm to your paint. If you live in a sunny place then white would help with that i suppose being more reflective.

Yer, lighter the car the less stuff shows up . Though i found with the white it looks fine, expect around the wheels where get odd bit black brake dust/ bits from tyre.

Yer candy white, to me the other white wasnt worth extra £400. Think it just one is metallic and the one isnt (not sure though)

Yer, when i picked mine i orginally went in to get white, saw green decided i wanted that, then was 3 month wait so decided i go back to white. Have to say, green is much more unique, ive seen a number of white seats, yet none green ones. But its also more expensive so up to you i suppose.

Only issue with SEAT paint was Ovni Yellow which used to fade under the clear coat, so polishing wouldn't even bring it back. They haven't used Ovni yellow since the mk1 Leon. Haven't head any issues with the current range of colours.

The paint is fine your just being miss informed. Yes the Ibiza is a cheaper car but so is a Kia and the paint is fine on them. Don't let the paint worry you, even my red mk4 looked brand new still at 60,000 miles.

I chose a blue Cupra rather than white as I've seen lots of white Ibiza's but very little blue ones.

Any paint works fine, just give it a good coat of wax which is UV protected,

I think AG HD Wax is?

the white paint is terrible and a bitch for stone chips, Me and my mate both decided to buy bocanegras as they looked like a laugh and his is much more paint chipped than mine on the front. His being white mine being red.

no stone chips are where the paint gets chipped off revealing the undercoat/plastic. which is black on the ibiza. So the entire front end of my mates bocanegra has lots of little black specs. LOTs of them

really? so far no one had mention this white paint issue - i though it was the safest actually,
is that a known issue then? what year is the car?

just modern paint, its much more prone to chipping and since white is such a contrast its shows far worse. It is also a cheaper finish as the metallic paints tend to require more layers to give the metallic finish, they also tend to have a more premium lacquer and clear-coat which protect further.

Just the way it is.
