Mash,

Good to see you have finally sorted out a Cupra R mate.

I take it the one in Huddersfield wasn't up to much then?

I'm from the old skool I guess and don't like black wheels, regardless of the body colour of the car. I personally think that nice, clean silver wheels look the business on a nice red car like that.

My car has the anthracite wheel finish on it and like yours it seems to be peeling off in places. The colour is growing on me, especially whilst they are clean, but I think if the peeling of the laquer gets much worse I'll be getting them refurbed in bright silver. Each to their own though.

I must admit I do think the look without the front splitter is good, but I'd be fearful of scraping the bumper and landing myself with a large bill.

Loving the colour of the car though. Get the respray work done and then go to town on the paintwork with Colour Magic and Carnauba Wax... it will come up like glass and will look the 'nads!

What spec does the car have? Tracker? CD Autochanger? Recaros? Climate?

Any mods planned?

J:)

Hi Jerry

The one in Huddersfield was nice but it was an extra 2 grand compared to this one!! I ended up thinking with my wallet, instead of my heart for a change! :D

I paid just over £4k for it.
210 model
single tape head unit + changer (soon to be ripped out for a shiny all singing all dancing Alpine)
No tracker
standard seats
Samco TIP
Quick shift
Fabia rear wiper
and a shed load of stone chips!!

No mods planned (i like it pretty much as it is), just the re-addidtion of the splitter and some paint. Then something done with the wheels....think ive decided what im doing but gunna keep it to myself for now! :p

Hope ive answered everybodies questions!

Just want to add that i am absolutely loving driving the car!! I cant imagine ever getting bored of it!

The car looks really well mate.

If you don't mind me asking, what mileage has it done? Sounds like you got it for a great price! :D

I see you mention Quickshift... I've never heard of this on a Leon before (just on Scoobies). Is this something that was fitted to the LCR as standard later on or has it always been an option?

The throw on the gearshift on my car (a 2004/54) seems pretty short - I wonder if I have it?

Why do people fit a Fabia rear wiper to the LCR? What is the difference?

J:)

Quickshift is aftermarket, Forge make a good one.

The fabia rear wiper looks alot better than standard and also doesn't judder across the screen. You'll know what I mean when winter comes :D. My advice is to get one, will cost you about £18 from a Skoda dealership and neatens up the back end so well.

Are the ones in huddersfeild at a place called dubbers

Jerry, its just clocked onto 92,000 so its not exactly low mileage but it certainly shouldnt be a problem. Especially since i only do about 5k year anyway!

Yes it was at Dubbers Shauny.

Just thought i'd do a quick update to say the car is back from the bodyshop, with a repainted bumper and bonnet and refurbished MATT BLACK wheels!! ;)

A new splitter has also been added along with a new stereo, a 225 steering wheel, and a couple of other little things.

Will put a post up in readers ride when it decides to stop raining!! :censored:

Wow - sounds like you got a bargain there!!! Just had a look at the RR thread and looks great. How much did you pay to get the bodywork done, if you dont mind me asking? My front bumper and a little of the bonnet is chip-city, so its another thing on my to-do list!

Bonnet and bumper was around £370 ish I think. I don't know if that's expensive or not, but I know the guys at the place I take it and trust them 100% to do an excellent job.

Sounds like a reasonable price to be honest. I'm looking get my front/rear bumper done along with the bonnet, and I'm trying to find a place that I trust in my area (Hemel/Watford/St Albans).

Jonathan_phang, I am looking too. I looked at an LCR this morning that needs a bonnet and bumper respray. I'm in London Colney.
