wheel colour

Hi mate.
Can I be cheeky and ask what colour your wheels are...Look awsome....

Revo are doing 20% off winter sale....

Stop it you, you're a bad influence. [B)]

Hi mate.

Cant remember the exact name of the paint, I'll dig out the receipt. Its a bright silver with a tiny bit of metallic flake. The less flake you have the smoother the paint finish is.

Its been a while since i've updated my RR, life has been very busy, what with work and a young daughter i've really struggled to find time for the car. I've been logging on to check out my favourite RR threads, but just havent felt like updating mine.

For a little while i wasnt feeling the car at all, she wasnt running 100%. I suspected it was a coil pack, finally managed to pop it after some enthusiastic driving. Luckily i had one in the boot and i was able to changed it at the side of the road.

Then the other week i had the thermostat and coolant fluid changed as the old one thermostat was playing up. It just wasnt getting up to temperature, It was good timing as soon afterwards the weather got really cold all of sudden.

The I had to fit my B5 TIP again as the other one came loose  I wondered why i had a little flat spot.

Now on to the good stuff :)

A good friend of mine bought me a S3 strut brace for my birthday day last month, havent had it fitted yet, that'll have to wait until the new year. Cant wait to get it on to see what all the fuss is about.

So i've been having a little think about the next list of jobs to be done:

Round one - After Christmas
- S3 Strut brace fitted
- Car raised slightly and levelled @ AmD
- Full laser alignment @ AmD
- Rear disk and pads

Round 2 - Early next year
- Down Pipe and de-cat fitted (finally)
- Stage 2 Revo

Round 3 - Summer time
- Airteck FMIC
- Map tweak
- Front and rear ARB

All being well Betty will have her first track session in 2013, she'll certainly be heading over to Wales for a long weekend at some point, possible twice as i may take her to the WRC in november too.

Will update with photo's when i get the chance... :)

Good update bud :) Some nice plans there.

Any idea on what arb pairing you're going to go for yet?

Just an idea for Revo 2. If you do think you'll eventually get an FMIC, I'd maybe wait to stage 2 the car after it's on to save you going back for a tweak. Will you be going for the linear throttle map?

Glad to hear all is well buddy. Great updates to come. I think many of us find ourselves in a very similar position to you. A few seem to be wanting track time these days... What's all the fuss about... :D

Good update James. Glad it's all coming together. I, like yourself have not been prioritising my car too much as of late but things will soon change.

If you do get the FMIC it will make a good difference on a stage 1 car. I noticed the difference instantly. Even more so than the exhaust which gave me NO gains whatsoever on a stage 1. Just noise.

Looking at getting my wheels done the same colour as yours too ;)

Sent from my iPhone when I should be working....

Thanks for the comments :) Sorry for late reply!

Once again i've been lazy and havent been on here a while, thought it was once again overdue for an update.

Finally found some spare time when it wasnt raining or snowing so i gave Betty a much needed clean.. cant remember her ever being this dirty... i'll let the pictures do the talking

I honestly think once the weather improves i will start to find the love again, to help kick start my enthusiasm for the car i rang AmD and booked the car in for a suspension set up, 4 wheel alignment and to get the S3 strut fitted. Will be there at the end of the month. :)

Over the coming months there is a fair few things which need doing so the updates will keep coming... thanks for reading :)

Black looks the daddy when clean like yours is in the pics there mate. Love it :D

You'll soon get the love back. We all have those winter blues lately, lol.

Good work on the book in at AmD. I'm sure she'll feel better on the way home :)

Its filthy already, although not as bad as pre wash. :) Looking forward to get handling properly set up.

Looks lovely when clean, did you use a wax? Looks like a lot of reflection for just a wash

Thanks Charlie :) No wax just wash and dry, was claxed and polished last summer, put loads of wax after polishing it and it still cleans up lovely. So much easier to clean once its properly clean. :)

Well worth the extra work when it still washed up easy after 8 months.

Scrubbing up nicely :)

Cheers EL :)

Little update

Saturday i drove up to AmD to have the suspension adjusted, S3 strut brace fitted and a 4WA alignment done. As expected the tracking was out, although much more than anticipated. The front toe is supposed to be 0.2 mine was 6.3 left / 3.9 right. :-o

It comes as no surprise that it ruined the inner edge of the tyres. Car drives must nicer now, steering is more responsive and nice and precise, it really is night and day. It still pulls ever so slightly to the left but i suspect that is due to the bizarre tyre wear associated with running such high amounts of toe.

With the brace fitted it definitely feels tighter at the front end, seems to be more stability mid corner. I haven't really had a chance to properly test it, i will wait until replacing the tyres before i give a thorough test - but initial impressions are good.

After leaving AmD i headed over to meet EL's to pick up my spacer (12.5mm fronts / 15mm rears). The plan was i'd pick them up and we'd fit them while i was there, unfortunately AmD forgot to return my locking wheel nut so we were unable to fit them.

It's in the post so i will be fitted them at some point this week. Once they're fitted and after i've had a chance to clean the car i will post a few pictures up, i feel a photo session coming on! ;)

While i was there EL kindly scanned the car and reset a few minor fault codes, big thanks to EL... it's always good fun to meet up with any the TED crew. :D

That's all the spending for this month.. next months car cost will be tax and rear disk and pads.. exciting stuff. ;)
