this is a notice for anyone who has a Jabba sport/ pro alloy FMIC

ive had problems with my car and ive just found out why....

I managed to put the problems down to a boost leak, so i started the hunt for the leak.

while i was looking i noticed my map/boost sensor had a fine oil spray around it on the aluminium pipe supplied in the kit.

under investigation, by removing the map sensor screws,i found the 0-ring that runs around shaft of the probe (which is used to seal the sensor) didnt even touch the sides (no comments lads ;) ) i couldnt work out how it was ment to seal the boost in!?!?

i then wrapped half a roll of PTFE tape around the sensor, refitted the o-ring and fitted the sensor. i then took it out for a spin......

HEY PRESTO, its boosting like a gem ;)

currently over the moon

So off you go...go and check your NOW!!!!

please report your findings and i will try to arrange a recall on Jabba FMIC pipes

overall im not too happy with the standard of the kit....the intercooler is the bollox but the way the hoses are cut (with a spoon by the looks of it) and the positioning of the intercooler. there is alot of room for improvment to say the least

what is was that some of the earlier cars had a bigger size whereas some of the later models had a slightly smaller sensor i had to goto them to get them to drill mine out, but i will look at that at weekend as im sure i've got a leak

sfs hoses arent to great bit soft i my opinion

Iam sure mine will be the same as yours hooch, also Pete's isn't right since it was fitted.

Will let you know what i find out bud.

thanks for the info.

Strange that some of us have had to drill out Proalloy map sensor bosses to get the sensors in. THey sure seem to have their sizes mixed up!

exactly same happened to me when I had to fit mine

had to redrill the hole, but bodged it, so PA did another pipe for me, simply becuase the original hole was way too small for the sensor to fit into

nothing to cry about though, its easily solved:)

surly pro alloy should say to check this as it could of caused me a lot of trouble!?

I believe PA have revised their kits now, as mine was a pre facelift one, and it made them realise the subtle differences between the Leon models (mine is a 2001 model)

for example the pipe that feeds off the turbo was too small for the charge pipe, and they have made that adjustment now with a slightly smaller end fabricated onto the end of the charge pipe

To be fair PA based the kit on the face lifted cupras, but obviously it seems even with the face lifted cupras their are still variations with the sensor and its size and no consistency to which size sensor you have with the year of the car:blink:

I told pete about it, but not sure if he has done it,

When i looked there wasn't any oil around it, but its back in body shop as some little **** on a bike scrapped right down his drivers door.

I will measure the size of the hole toomorrow.

Only got that side of intercooler piping to do and intake to plumb in then its ready to go.

gd lad! bet u cant wait! but it will be worth it...i can assure you!

alex had no oil around his but it ran much better after he sorted it

Hi Guys,

Silly question but can you tell me where the MAP sensor boss is located? Is it a bumper off job to get at it? Mine was all fitted by Jabba so excuse my ignorance.

I noticed last night that my boost seems to be down a bit (used to be about 1.6 bar peak and holding 1.5 bar - now about 0.1 bar lower) and thought I would check this.

Thanks for that, yeah having looked on the car it looks like it has the original MAP sensor and cast pipework on mine (located below and between battery and headlight).

So I guess this is not my problem

Will have to see how it goes, just hope I don't loose any more boost before the JKM RR day. Will be on holiday next week so won't really get any time to look at it before then.

well someone mentioned on another thread take a pipe off and block other end with about a bar of air pressure in and try to listen for the leak or use some leak spray this is someone elses info but seems to be a good one to me

i been told by PA that this mistake on mine was due to a bloke that has now been sacked!

it should only have been on my batch of ibiza fmic
