Jack Point Covers Keep falling Off - anyone else ?

I have a Leon 06 plate, TDI sport and we have had the jack point covers on the skirt fall off 3 or 4 times now ! Seat is refusing to replace the latest lot at their charge even though it is clearly a design fault. You dont pay this much for a new car and expect bits to fall off do ya !

Has anyone else had this problem, did you manage to get Seat to keep replacing them ? Our car came out of warranty in July, so typically they just dont want to know !!

im on my 2nd lot... im gonna glue the buggers on, and cable tie them.. lol.
very poor design imo. they would be better off with a retaining screw sort of fixture, rather than 3 flimsy clips :S :S

I lost one of mine the other day too. I bought a replacement pair from David at Sere for £15 which came pre-primed. Just need to get them painted now which i've been quoted £25 for.

The MK1 Leon had he same issue would of hought they would of sorted it. On the MK1 seemed to be the lower quality plastic used that warped and casued them to drop out [:@]

I havent had this problem yet , done 25,000 miles and had all 4 covers off when i took my wheels off to polish my calipers.
Are people having the problem once the covers have been taken off or on ones where they have not been disturbed?
When i wash my car i make sure the covers get a good clean so dirt dirt gets in.

I'm waiting delivery on 4th set... this time for free.. Im sick to my back teeth of it happening, and I sure int paying for a design fault, so SEAT are being made to cough up each time now!

on my 3rd set. Drilled a small hole in the skirt and one in the cover and put a tie rap through. Sees more secure then when they were new.

More i drive the car worse it gets. Spent more on this car then any of my pivious put together. New cars suck. Why cant the companys stick to good old engineering.

In the event that the car has to be jacked up using the std supplied jack, is it really necessary to remove the jacking point covers?

I have never had to use the supplied jack yet (touches wood) and I hope I never do.

If not, then I will glue mine on. The current std method of holding them on really is poor.

yeah you do have to take them off, i drilled 2 holes at either side of the the jack point and 2 on the inside of the side skirt and put 2 cable tighs threw them, dont think them will b going any where now

I don't have the side skirts (Mates cupra does)but they do have a retaining strap on the inner.
Are people not replacing the covers correctly after removal or am I missing something.
Its possible that where the strap fastens on the inner that this piece could get damaged when removing the cover hence loosing it on a journey as the strap is not fastened in place properly. No ?
