i can confirm the magnex is a pile of dog doo, knocked like hell where it wasnt fitted properly first, got it refitted and had to get custom hangers made for it to sit right. It booms horrendously at 80+, and to add insult i think the baffles have gone, cos it makes a god awful noise when you boot it when hot. DO NOT BUY MAGNEX EVER!

ordered a janspeed cat back stainless today £300 ouch!!!!!!
scotty p i put the zorst in the post today they said it will be with you on monday

I think that supersprint is definatly worth a look, excellent build quality, had cat back fitted to my old beeza and was very happy with the results, you should be able to order a kit from awesome gti, or demon tweeks

This is a very interesting post. I have a 2.0 8v and my magnex cat back fitted badly, luckily i live near magnex so i visited them, they adjusted it and i left happy. filled the tank up with fuel and the damn vibrating was back. DOH. Back to magnex, turns out they had to put a 'dent' in it to get over the rear beam properly. :/ How crap is that for design. the guy was concerned it would affect the back pressure but IMO the damn pipe is way to big anyway, i swear i lost power fitting it.

And the damn boom is horrible, i'm actually embarrased to carry passenegers :(

AVOID MAGNEX ......

Im put off getting custom exhausts ...motorway trips became very unpleasant, and had to apologise to passengers about the noise

That and the knocking, constant adjusting, power loss when the exhaust was hot, expands a bit. Just more of a pain to get right than anything in most cases. Saying that, there are people who have been please first time. Don't wana run that risk again

The rear axel is where most of the problems come from. You think you got it sorted, have to adjust it at the rear axel ...and it cocks up the positioning elsewhere...pain!

i used to like magnex systems until i got to see inside one rear box on a 16v golf....
choked down to extremely small pipework inside the box which strangled the car... but had a huge oval pipe so it looked big..
Janspeed use to be a quality system, but was'nt the quietest, but worked.

fitment is usually fiddly with larger bore systems anyhow so rubbers might need to be replaced and swapped to get it all aligned right.

My 6x4 cat back piping is huge, too big IMO, looking up the pipe from the back box i can see straight through and it's the same size the whole way, my mate once commented how he could probably get his hand up it!

Dont get Janspeed- I used to work part time at halfords when i was a student. Halfords dumped janspeed couple years ago coz 80% of sold janspeeds were being returned coz of rust after like 6 weeks!

thats bad news.. they used to be good.. but those were the days when they did'nt do stainless systems anyhow.. (XR3i... *cough*)
