Hi everyone.
Just a bit of info needed. I know there are lots of threads about tuning boxes but I’m looking specifically at the jb4.
Ive had mapped cars in the past but they were mapped after fitting exhaust, filter fuel pumps etc so most of the tuned cars I owned jumped from stock to plus 70,80 or even 100+ Bhp.
So will I notice a jb4 in stock map1 tune with no other bolt ons?
It’s still under warantee so just want a bit more ooomph .

I've never tried JB4 but have been reading a bit about it (I went with a reflash in the end and are happy with it). From what I've gathered you can logg the car with the JB4 and send the logs to someone at JB4 and they will reply back with settings for the custom map (nr6 i believe), if fuel quality is high and the car is healthy you should se about 50-60hp (from 290-300 to ~340-360) close to a reflash. And that will make a big a difference to car. This is with 0 hardware.

Thanks for that. It is the cupra290 with opf.
I imagined you would probably notice more midrange as trying to put 286 through the front from a standing start isn’t the best.
 
Map 1 is definitely felt. Map 2/3/4 even more so. If you disable it (map 0) the car feels lackluster. And if you have good fuel and blend it with some E85 you can fine tune a map 6 and it is really moving.
