ever since buying the cupra r a few weeks ago ive noticed that the throttle response isnt as smooth as it perhaps could be. it kind of feels like there is a misfire but im sure its not. it happens often when letting off the throttle at 3k-4k revs. it isnt really bad but noticeable when driving it everyday.

ive read about the n249 valve bypass and wondered if this is why people do it?

any ideas?

I have this on my LC it feels like you have run out of fuel or like a stutter and then comes straight back. Happens a couple of times a day so would be interested in this, nothing comes up on vag-com either. The only thing i could think is that it might be a coil pack.

ive read that as the turbo is comin off boost it can cause this stutter. am i right?

this n249 bypass ive read about is meant to give a smoother response but again not sure if it will help with this.

try a uprated dv mate, plastic bosch job doesnt hold boost well when remapped.
uprated mine to forge 007 and all was well after.

as said it may be a coil on its way out also.

ive got my forge dc on my kitchen table waiting to go on so fingers crossed that mite sort it out. like i say its not a massive deal but if i can sort it then i will do.

so for someone in the know what is that n249 bypass all about does that aid in a smoother drive?

ha i'm no mechanic mate i wouldnt even know where to look! plus i got no tools.

is it really that easy? il go buy a tool box and try my hand at modding by myself!

take engine cover off, find the old black standard dv, top right of the engine, note which way round it is....

unclip the pipes int the old dv and reattach to the new one with the clips you got with it.

easy as...

best to reset ecu then drive with new dv on.

easy peasy, tools you need are, screwdriver, and something to tighten whatever clips you have to fix the new ones on..:funk:
