Just wondering does the rear bumper need to come off for the balance to come off as I was planning on spraying it or wrapping it in gloss vinyl.

Cheers

You cant wrap them, doesnt take to the nippled effect of the plastic.

Get it off, sand the nipples out, high build primer and paint in gloss black and it'll look sweet

I've not looked into the rear valence on the cupra but I assume it's the same; clips on the top and about 5/6 t20 bolts.

Sam.

Fr I think mate, and I took them bolts off it moved but it wouldn't come off lol, felt like it was bolted also behind the bumper ?

I'm in love with it, only a 2.0TDi but its quite nippy, really good on fuel.

Hopefully getting insured on the 3.0Tdi soon  which is soon to be 370Bhp!

I did fancy going for a A3 2.0TDI 170BHP Quattro with DSG.. But swiftly decided against it when a mate of mine smashed a 2.0tdi a3 140 in his dads 100bhp 5door fiesta.. Piss poor..
So I think im going to go for a 8L A3 1.8T quattro ;)

Not updated this in a while!

Not been doing much with it to be honest, just cleaning bits mostly!
Steering was feeling poop recently so me and a local seat friend got the wheels off, tightened everything up and got some WD40 on the coilovers and top mounts.

Got my rear spacers off, they hadn't been off for a year! Got them all tidied up and greased the bolts to stop them seizing or shearing in the hub!

Eventually got my rub strips back on too.

Cleaned up my engine bay too as it was getting a bit grubby!

I also drilled my airbox about 2 weeks ago, sounded good but the intake temperatures were shocking, they were making my already slow car, even slower! So off that came, and the induction kit with a cold air feed came back on, much better intake temps already!

Also been taking every single sticker off too. Completely bored of them now, even forum stickers :hide:

Future plans:
-Replace top mounts
- Full paint correction detail -
I want rid of all the swirls marks!
- Upgrade to some decent coilovers - I'm hating my cheapos at the moment! I need something decent in my life. Preferably some Weitec Hicon GT's. Been for a drive in them and loved them!
- New tyres
- Wheel refurb in a slightly darker silver
- Euro passenger light
- 3 brake light mod

Quite an expensive list the way i see it! But should be a much better car (IMO) than it is currently!

A few photos that i've had a little play with on PhotoShop

You know you have 3 rear lights on each side? side, brake fog and reverse? If you get the euro rear lights,
put a red bulb in it, and a dimmer rear fog then wire a +ve to the reverse and the fog from the sides, then you have 3 side lights on, on each side.

This is what i mean.

Lights that are lit are shown blue. Ignore chavvy bodykit, first pic i could find on google!

Normal with just sides on

The flying banana got detailed on Monday. Wasn't a paint correction detail as i don't have the products to do one yet. Although the Megs #9 with a lake country light cut polishing pad did remove some of the swirls.

I found out it was way over due!

Clean and beading after rinsing (not so much beading even though the car got another coat of wax at the end of April)
