just bought cupra r

hi

i bought my mates leon cupra r of him last night. its been remaped, dumo valve and a induction kit on it, dyno'd at 289bhp. was out in it last night and after a good 3 hours of drving it the tempature gauge descidd to go rite up and the red warning light came on so i pulled over and let it cool down and it hasnt done it since. any ideas wat it cud b?

what sort of driving were you doing at the time? motorway? A roads? traffic?

water pumps are a potemntial weak point.. manyt people change the pump when they change the cambelt. although im not saying its definately this. although a pricey bit of work.

i presume you have checked things like coolantg level.

Has it had any coolant repairs such as a new water pump or any way that there could have been an air lock?
