nicely done charlie :)

Although the paint is knackered now (didnt laquer them and i think i should have) I did the same as you mate, bar the main engine cover which is cf forge jobbie.

Do the entire battery cover - i think robdon's red one looks really nice.

cheers pabs, yea i think your right about doing the whole battery cover, better go get some more paint, I got a forge carbon cover too! that will be going on sale i can tell you, you will see i had to "modify" the cover to allow the TIP pipes to fit through. Forge TIP pushes these pipes up in the air, but it also helps show off the Recirc valve :)

Personally I wouldn't do the whole cover, I think it'll look too much. All you need to do now is polish up the rest of the paint work under the bonnet to match the shiney engine cover ;)

believe me i would love to, but i have no idea how to get rid of the frikkin waxoil stuff, its un shiftable. and now of course its covered in grime

polish your inlet manifold too ;)

yea too right, i have a buddy who works in an electroplating factory who is going to try a nickel finish if it takes properly that is, gonna buy a scrappy manifold and try it first.

also gonna get some Neuspeed cam pulleys on order soon and he will anodise those red, or chrome them. not sure what to do yet?

Good Job mate

I may well be trying that on mine mate.

Did you use SEAT paint to do it??
What primer??

I just Bought Vauxhall flash red body paint from the nearest shop and applied it to the covers after a light rub down with glass paper, i think the rough nature of the plastic may offer a good enough key for the paint without prep or primer though.

then just heavily laquered them, thats it.

was only supposed to be an experiment tho seeing as i have the carbon cover, but now i prefer it!
if it bubbles and splits i will do it again using heat resisitant red caliper spray, but it seems to be ok. not a long job tho all done in 2 hours.

well worth it

Trip to halfrauds I think.

May try to get hold of a couple of cans of SEAT Flash Red to try it tho. Any ideas where from???
