oh yea thats what i said. fair enough if you have a heat shield if not watch your cars power drop as the hot airs sucking through

Its not as extreme on a turbo car as its all super heated by the turbo and then cooled at the intercooler anyway, although I use a heat shield but more for clean air rather than heat.

Yeah i was thinking that DK im still not a fan of the open cone setup, very interested in what your going to do with yours i still want enclosed induction really the badge5 TIP does that fit the same way a cone filter would you just had to trim yours to fit the airbox? im wondering weather to just get the TIP and connect it up to my standard box, or get the cone filter long term with heat shield, i know your planning on doing something with an Audi S3 airbox and the jetex? how did yours run on the day, new TIP jetex with air intake from the pannel filter still connected?

I'v ditched the cone now, I was going to cover it with the S3 airbox cover but I dont think there would have been enough airflow around the filter.
I only had the Jetex on for about 30 miles and TBH it did'nt feel any better than when I had my modded airbox, Maybe it needed more time to adapt but it were'nt getting it cos I did'nt like the way it looked

To make the 3" TIP fit with the airbox you need to trim quite a bit off the top elbow, probabley about 1 inch off each end,

The 3" TIP has made a noticeble difference even with the airbox on.

Green cone filter gets my vote.

Had an enclosed BMC-CDA before hand and performed just as well as the open cone IMO. Slightly more noise with the open cone and around £100 cheaper :)

to be honest im not going down the open cone route but if i was it would be pipercross velocity as i could image it looking pretty sweet. there isnt any pics of cupra engine with one in is there? its the one with the long carbon fibre that goes round side of battery with the cone behind the headlight or in that sort of area

I've got a green dynatwist mate with a 104mm cold feed and defo made a difference! dosent dump as loud as it does with a normal cone filter, and induction noise is a bit quieter!

Currently run a Neuspeed Induction kit (K&N cone).

good old paper filter does it for me, change every 6 month,

Ive never seen genuine claims on filters making an ounce of difference on a turbo motor, if anything put that 40-50 quid towards a decent TIP or other modification,

Ran a k&n on and off with a forge 007p, and not back to the original paper filter & bosch diverter,

green cotton seems the favourite if i had to, but personally paper does it best, & protects youre enging better than any performance filter,
