Knock when turning sharp (car park)

I think i have the solution for this knock. Go to the ecs tuning site and do a search for the part number:
ES2102460

Watch the video and compare if your knock is something like the one on the video.

Thanks Number12, but this is not it. My knock is not that loud and is mostly under slight acceleration or braking. Not so much under turning. If i turn into my driveway, which is a right turn at an incline, the knock is also very prevelant, but not when the door is open, and this makes em worry a bit.

They replaced some sort of bush in the lower control arm before i bought the car, so not sure if it has something to do with that.

Thanks for recommendation though.

Is the same similar to a CV joint on its way out? I have a clicking sound when on full lock to right (not left) at low speed. I'm sure it is the CV joint but could be the stretchy bolts problem? Not easy to get under car with 4" snow outside!

I recently fitted a whiteline anti lift kit to my leon.

so i thought id do this mod to the subframe whilst i was underneath the car.

ordered the spacers and bolts as posted above from seat/vw. but when comparing the bolt lengths of the new bolts and the ones i removed i found the new bolts where quite a bit shorter.

if anyones done this mod it might be worth checking theyve got the right bolts fitted. ive a feeling that the partnumber for the bolts that is quoted is for the outboard position that goes through the suspension bush rather than the subframe locating position.

This knocking noise had been an issue for me for a while. I heard it only on summers. No knocks on winter or even on summer when starting the journey and car was still cold. Or maybe I just didn't drive it as hard when it was cold. Either way had the knocks on hard cornering and on the hotter days.

Replaced the original bolts with the Audi bolts. Must say, they looked very similar with the OEM, not like the "black ones", you can see on GTI pictures on vw forums.
But they definitely were loose and there ware noticeable marks on frame where you could see that the sub frame had moved for couple of millimetres left and right (or back and forward).

Changed four bolts. Just bolts, no shims.
Inner bolts are M12*1,5*110. They are 110 mm long. Audi part number: N 908 23 501
Outer bolts are M12*1,5*90. They are 90 mm long. Audi part number: N 910 39 802 (Superseded from N 910 39 801- same bolt, new part number)
Torqued them all to 110NM (81ft-lbs) + ¼ turn.

Quiet at the moment (two days gone past) and feels a lot better/firmer on corners:p
Car is 2007 yr. Cupra and have done 80 000 km / 50 000 miles.

I'd like to see the video also, or at least a description of where these bolts are, so kbps which ones to check

Think they are referring to the Subframe bolts but can not see the vid either. These bolts are single use and can only be torque tightened once. You also have to be careful removing them as I've read of them snapping in the subframe and are then a pain to remove.

This is a link to an upgrade kit that the VW Golf guys have found but apparently Seat also do improved bolts
https://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/index.php?page=mods&mod=212

This is the control arm bolt references that people have mentioned in the thread,
1x N91039802 - M12x1.5x90 Bolt (supersedes N91039801)

But double check with your parts supplier that it is correct.

Just to add another possibility. I did have a knock when turning in a car park sharp. Turned out that the garage that did the tracking didn't tighten one of the steering rack bolts up tight to it was moving and giving a knock sound.
