Basically that the SEAT's should be pegged back because they are so much quicker than the rest of the field.

However it doesn't really wash does it, considering a Vauxhall leads the drivers championship by 44 points and Vauxhall lead the manufacturers title by 105 points. With only 9 races remaining in the championship.

If SEAT were on form all year, maybe he'd have an argument but i think though they have a blistering qualifying form. It has not been converted into wins with all the problems. As such it's been a closer run thing.

However SEAT have built and fielded cars within the rules, if he doesn't like it. Build better cars.

I think in the WTCC the BMW bosses said that TDI is the way to go really, BUT that they would stick to petrol engines for now to keep things interesting. They didn't want to turn the whole thing into a Diesel engine battle in a premier motorsport championship that is showcased around the world.

Would we ever see a diesel engine in an F1 car i wonder and be competitive?

To be honest, and I've said before, I don't think the establishment like diesels in motorsport.

I can also see BMW spitting their dummy out at the end of the WTCC this year. Even when BMW probably manufacture some of the best derv engines in the world.

Would BMW be allowed to use the Twin Turbo'd Derv engine that is in the 123d/323d road cars?

Have a read... but I think (from memory) it has to be a single turbo from a production BMW (no acrobat on this pc yet)

Only one turbocharger is allowed.
This turbocharger is free provided it is fitted on any series touring
car vehicle and is commonly on sale.
No supplementary supercharging device is allowed.
A twin turbocharger is allowed but the turbochargers and the
intercooler must remain original without any modification.

They can only be 4 cylinder engines also. Limited to 2000cc

I bet diesel 3 series outsell petrols in most markets... so what's the deal

Seems to be the case that they can run with a twin tubby, but it cant be modified over stock spec. No doubt with the way the touring car bureau work, they will be fiddling with it all year anyway.

No doubt they will use air restrictors of some description to limit power.

I was there aswell today. Glad it stayed dry.

Lets hope for a good 1-2 tomorrow aswell.

They looked very inpressive in Qualifying, and Plato's last lap was a blinder. Carried great speed through the last corner to blast up the straight.
