1.4 Powerrr
Just got another Ibiza :) had it 2 weeks now.
It's a 57 plate Ibiza Formula Sport 1.4. It has 15k on the clock.

When I go over bumps, brake, take my foot off the power etc, I get this knocking/short squeak noise from the front-right suspension. It's not very loud but annoying if you don't have the radio on. I was wondering if it's a bush gone?

The car still have manufacturing warranty :) so it should get replaced under that right?

could be your drop links, front rear bushes or your ARB bushes. I've had the same problem, chanded front rear bushes the noise was still there , chaned the drop links and the noise is really faint but still there so gunna try the ARB bushes next.

Hope this is helpful

I have the same, plus a squeek too.

I got an MOT advisory for worn bush.

I have exactly the same car as you with 23k on the clock. I get this noise also and the car has been in the garage 8 times to try and sort this out. Seven of the times they denied anything was wrong then the eighth time they said the arb bushes were worn and they replaced them. The car still makes these noises and they are just as loud as before! Getting really p****d off with this now becuase i feel that the garages that i am going to are not bothering their a**e to look at it properly :censored:

ive got the same problem on my 1.2mk4 creaks like mad over bumps from the front end think its gonnna be a bush problem as the bushes are S***E on them who ever though semi hollow bushes were a good idea !

Yup I agree

Bush issue can ruin your front tyres. Stupid me not checking them regularly but had to shell out for two new tyres plus the bushes. I know nothing about cars but when it was happening to mine was told either engine mount or bushes turned out to be bushes. About 1 hour labour each side - after market bushes are available that are more durable.

I got the front bushes changed under warranty as the front end was squeeking away over speed bumps. The heavy TDI engine, firm suspension and south London's speed bumps seems to destroy the factory bushes. Garage have put cupra bushes in, nice of em, firms the steering up a treat! ;)

when my wishbone bushes went it was more of a creaking noise and the drop links went more of a knocking sound

The garage put cupra bushes in for free? I asked if they would do this but they said no :(

same problem here - same area of car too. I've got new droplinks, and top mounts when my suspension was changed - wonder if one of these is causing the noise, perhaps not done up tight enough?

Does anyone know if there is a torque setting for arb droplink bolts?

dont put in cheap bushes i did lasted 8k in my tdi sport
go to seat they only use solid bushes now!

Really? My car went in a few weeks ago to get bushes done and they still used hollow bushes. They said i would have to pay to put in solid ones.

Hi guys, my bushes have gone twice now. Driving me insane. Can anyone recommend a premium product to buy? (great if you have a link) I dont mind spending it if it means they will last and make as little noise as possible! my car is 02 reg 1.9 tdi sport. Many thanks guys

got this same problem, wondering whether you guys could shed some light on any fixes? is it a case of replacing the bushes or something more serious?

I had a knocking noise that was cured by new droplinks. There are only two bolts per side for the droplinks, so strictly speaking an easy fix, but the bolts tend to be corroded on very badly. I had to grind one of the bolts off in the end. Hagster, I have never changed the bushes in my car or used this company, so I cannot say that this is a recommendation, but 'Powerflex' make bushes for Ibizas. Maybe someone on here can tell us if they are any good?
