Fantastic looking car. Makes me want to get one, and get back into detailing!
Time to think about selling my mk4 Cupra TDi methinks! :)

Bit of a sad update :( went to check the cars oil yesterday as it had been 2 weeks since I last topped up, there wasn't a drop of oil on the dipstick and it took more that a litre just to get it onto the minimum mark.

Looks like I've got the dreaded problem but hopefully I can get the piston rings done and that'll be it!

That doesn't sound good :( I would think that a modern engine shouldn't be using oil tbh. Least it's under warranty

Yeah I'm pretty gutted about it but warranty is the saving grace! Just a shame these engines are flawed in that way because the performance and insurance cost is awesome!

You know you can take it back to any dealer for repair, not just where you bought it? I've tried them all locally and the best by far was AC Linwood believe it or not!

Tbh I'm considering taking it to Henry's Skoda in town, warranty can be done by any vag registered garage afaik and the guys in there don't mess about :) one of the lads is on svag and really is a top bloke.

Don't really fancy linwood after the problems we had with Joanna's car and the last resort would be Alexandra parade, they've done work on my old 1.2 and I was never unsatisfied although there is no doubt better garages around.

hope you're not using AC Alexander parade! I'd steer clear of any AC.
They sold me my car with out a spare alloy when I complained they ordered another alloy, for an Altea, after looking at my alloys. waited a month for them to get the correct alloy. This was 5 years ago.

I'd recommend W Livingston but there's horror stories with any dealer lol

You are brave, this weather is a joke! Spent most of the day in Maryhill measuring retaining walls in the rain :(

I'm desparate to do mine tomorrow since it's all sorted now and filthy!
