worse as mine was at 33k becuase the first owner hardly did any miles so it is on the annual thing now rather than 10k intervals

Snap, just coming up to 34k miles for me, car is 4 years old next month. Price is now £350 which includes brake fluid change, I get a Leon 1.6 Reference as a courtesey car too. :funk: Oh, the powah!

last seat courtesy car i had was a brand new leon, just as they came out
was no fuel in it, by the time id found a petrol station i still didnt know if it was petrol or diesel-it was awful

found myself a brilliant little independant VAG service place now so its going there from now on

I heard alot of bad things about coupers, few guys on here say they are crap, I bought a car that was serviced by them and it had scratches on the bonnet where they have washed the car and forgot to reset the service light... use another dealer.

Been going there for a couple of years now, never let me down yet. Forgot to reset the service light on mine once, but soon rectified it. Other than that, both the wife and my car have been there on a few occasions without major incident.

I used to use Marshalls in Bedford who were fantastic, but not sure of any others locally MK maybe? Any recommendations would be considered...

My 40k service is costing around £230 with JKM, who use original parts and very good oil. Just goes to show how expensive Seat main dealers are!

Plus, I'd rather let experts like JKM service my car, than let the YTS monkey at Seat practice on my car. And when it comes to resale time, I'm fairly confident that 'expert VAG independent garage' holds as much weight as "Seat'. :)

For what it's worth... my local Seat dealer quoted similar prices. So if you're intent on going to a Seat dealer the £320+ prices mentioned are about right. But I can't stress enough... phone around some local (to you) VAG specialist garages. People like BBT, JKM, Jabba, JBS etc etc. There are good places all over the country and I bet you'll save money and get a better service :)

Mine just had its 80k service from Holders in Congresbury (official Seat Dealer) for £240 inc VAT. Hated the new Leon courtesy car they gave me though, horrible driving postion. My baby is purring now so well happy.

One thing I did find quite interesting is that my wife's car had its 4yr/40k service recently at the same place, and they charged her the exact same amount, for a 3 cyl 1.2 Polo! Makes mine seem like quite a bargin in that sense.

do they do a general inspection and vag.com check at the 40K service???

and if so what do they check on the car? suspension etc.?

I have mine next week

the service is pretty much lubrication, - oil change, hinges, few mechanical bits, checking operation of things like brakes, tyres etc.

filters, plugs etc are not done on every service.
so basically you have a basic service everytime, then they add bits as per schedule dependant on service type.

The 40k service includes sparks and, I'm fairly sure, brake fluid too. It's the first of the really big services.

It's all covered in your owners manual anyway ;)

TTS in bedford done 40k service and it was very reasonably priced. it didn't include changing the plug but i paid to have them done anyway. can't bloody remember how much i paid though, i'll see if i can find the invoice later. :)

Inde-tech for me - used them a few times now and very impressed, not least as they're half the price of the main dealer.
