Hi Guys,

Have done a search and can't find out much info...

Is there much difference in the two? I currently own a LC and wanting to know if the LCR springs would be much difference in -mm drop would the LCR springs sit lower at all?

Also, lowering advice - I would like to know what drop would suit a 18" alloy wheel upgrade without effecting the ride too much as I like the standard setup but with bigger wheels the gap might be too much between the alloy and the arches - dont want to be driving a tractor :cartman:

Any advice would be much appreciated - thanks!!

With your 1st query, I am afraid I can't offer much advice but being an LCR owner with a standard set up, I would say that with its 18" wheels it would comfortably take a 30mm drop, possibly 40mm without any probs.

Hopefully some people with modified suspension can advise further :)

I'd avoid the OEM LCR suspension dampers in particular are cr@p

Save the extra and get some better quality kit IMO

possibly 40mm without any probs.

I'd also put money aside to repair your sump at 40mm

20mm is fine for everyday driving (multi story car parks and speed bumps etc) probably up to 30mm with carefull driving

afaik lc is based on mk4 golf and lcr based on A3 set up.

remember your 10mm lower than a standard leon so a 30mm drop is really 20mm in real terms.

im running 18s with eibach prosport shocks and springs which seems to suit. wheels fit the arch well and no driving issues. i think these were advertised as a 20-30mm drop?

some have gone lower... have a browse through the readers ride section:)

Cheers Ruddmeister.

Traumapat - How do you find the ride quality with the Eibah Pro-Sport and where did you source these from and how much for?

I know Eibach have had some very good reviews, any pics of your car lowered on the 18"s please :D

they are not bad. certainly not rock hard... but you feel the road. i do get a squeak in the wet.... but that could be anything. do some searching as it maybe a feature:lol:

can remember the price. got them via jabbasport 500-600:shrug:?

So to close those gastly arch gaps you would have to compromise where you can drive the car quite a bit.

I was thinking about giving mine a 30mm, I just don't think that 20mm will bring those arches down enough.

The picture below is an LCR lowered 15-20mm on 18inch alloys and OEM on std 18 inch alloys

Depends what you are after, modifications to enhance performance and go quicker or just slam the car to the floor

Probably depends whether your car is a daily driver or a show queen

The bottom look is what im going for, but Im guessing that the LCR's sit slightly lower than just the Leon Cupra 180??

What kit is the above lowered on?

How does 15-20mm drop feel as in comfort wise Ruddmesiter?

What wheels have you got on there traumapat? Got identical car and they look very nice.

they were some copy of something... changed wheels as wanted to go 18x 7.5" width. cost 800 with gsd3s on so it was the price that did it. give nick a bell at jabbasport. they must be available elsewhere but not seen them.

word of warning... within a year the finish was disappearing... so good cheap wheel but will need a refurb after a while.

i was under the impression that LC and LCR springs were both 20mm lower than a standard leon??

Well mine is lowered 50mm on cobra springs/shocks on 17's....handles really well... ride aint atually that bad for the amount of drop... im pleased with it anyway...

heres a couple pics to giv you an idea...

I've got 18 lcr rims and lowered it with eibach pro springs and koni FSD shocks.

I was a bit dissapointed with the drop (10mm max) but the handling is great and comfy too with the FSD's.

here's a piccie
