Check out that torque ;)

Holes were drilled in the lower left side plastic trim under fog light... space to side of fog light also opened up. I can take a picture tommorrow if you like...

Creating air flow to this area makes a BIG difference on a remapped LC with same bumper as mine as the air flow for the SMIC is utter crap as standard.

We did over 40 runs on the dyno and proved this time and time again with the single SMIC setup.

Ok here you go...

I've not decided if its staying like that or if I will open the whole lot and 'mesh' it but you can see the holes above the splitter and also if you look to the left of the fog light I have opened up the slats in the grill as well and also the plastic has been opened up behind the slats to direct cool air on to it...

The standard design imho is very poor and on a mapped car high EGT's from substained 4th gear runs show a reduction in power due to the heat.

The standard design uses a scoop from the middle front grill that then goes left across the bumper towards the SMIC.

We popped the fog light out and directed a fan at the SMIC and did the runs again... we did several 4th gear runs one after another with no reduction in power.

bit confused mate ive got a 01 lc and on the bumper in the pick u are showing, mine has this part open and a plastic fin for want of a better word to guide air to the smic is your bumper off an lc or has it had damage at the front and a lesser bumper fitted:confused:

Can you show me a picture please mate?

My bumper is OE to my knowledge... anyone else care to comment?

This is your second dodgy map iirc, least it seems all sorted now.

Missed this sorry... the first (and second map) were from the same company... just different variations.

In all honesty it felt ok on the road with the second map but the RR showed the curves to be wrong hence the decision to remove it and get a new map.

On the Cupra the bit you have drilled holes in is 100% surposed to be cut out.

Seat supply the bumpers without the cut out [as do many other manufactures] but its often marked on the back so you know where to cut.

My bet is its had a new bumper at some point and the garage hasn't cut the hole out.

Thats standard for a cupra, my pre facelift bumper is excatly the same and I did loads when I used to work for a garage.

Its not really noticable is it hence why most of the garages don't even notice they have to put the hole in.

Typical... lol - no wonder I was getting massive heat soak!

Ok - how do I open it up fella?

I obviously want a tidy job done...
