Hi all

I'm in the process of looking for and buying an LCR. Have come across a lovely black LCR 210 and a nice silver LCR 225.

I have read the thread about the actual differences between them but what I would like to know is would I notice any real difference in speed between the two?

I currently drive a 1.6 mk1 focus which I rushed into buying which I regretted doing so, I'm trying not to make the same mistake again.

Thanks
Chris

Hello Mate...

Have a look at this post - http://www.seatcupra.net/forums/showthread.php?t=115851

Cheers.

got sold on maybe

i should hope not!

im hoping mines an early 210 and maybe they got missed off, or sold as an added extra

doesn't seem to be evidence of the silver pedals on mine no idea how much they are from the stealers! either raa something else to get :(

i think my car was owned by a female once, maybe she was driving it too fast, so they removed the covers! :D

£80 from stealers thanks for that crys even more though! nothing is cheap i checked the price of the standard gaitor the other day i expect £30 tops no its £160 yes for a bit of leather with red stiching and the plastic base joke!

D.K - I live in Petts Wood, near Orpington.

Vipers_Venom - Cheers for that mate but I have already read that :)

I've just noticed my prospective car has metal pedals too :)

yeah but you still need to the 225 wheel the standard wheel on the LCR is a joke :D

im after one! also check on that photo why the plastic cover is missing for the vagcom port, has he had bits done to it or is it just lost or fallen off worth asking :)

mine was pretty ticky to get off thats all

Guys, I dont think its missing.....If you look very closely, there is a piece of plastic sitting just below the port (upper left part of the gearknob)......Looks like they took it off for something.

I think the point everyone has missed so far is that you are going from a 1.6 focus to an LCR. Whether its the 210 or 225 you'll be grinning ear to ear!

My wife has a focus 1.6 lx and I drive it around for most of the week and then I jump into mine and it's just amazing!

If you are buying an older model I would advise you have a good read through the common faults pages.

Ie:

Both fans come on when u switch the air con on
Secondary water pump is working
Timing belt and water pump has been changed (if required)
Check for any signs of water under passenger side floor mats if so could be leaky door seals or pollen filter not fitted correctly.

There's loads more have a look, most of the above aren't a problem to fix but worth looking out for so you can haggle on price!!

Good luck with your new motor.

Something else you might want to take in to consideration too when deciding between the 210 & the 225 model, and thats the seats it comes with. Mines a 210 and I'm lucky enough to have the Recaro front and rear seats, which I believe were never an option on the 225  Also, mine has the double din Seat Sat Nav unit, which once again, I've never seen in a 225! Yeah, ok, you'll probably find it harder to find track down a decent low milage 210...but I'd defiantly hold out for one if I was you! :D

my black 210 came with silver pedals and the upgraded seats front n back, was told by someone there rare and worth a lot of money ( not sure how true that is ) and my mates is a 225 and to be honest speed wise there is little to no difference in performance, and mine came with the square mirrors not tear drop by all accounts i missed the upgrade by 3 weeks :(, but its all good as i got some from a scrappy for £60 quid same colour aswell so bonus lol...what ever you decide just enjoy it....

but either model to come with the nav and recaro's are like rocking horse poo, ull wait a while if you hold out.

Yeah, I'll give you that, it took a while for me to find mine.......but my patience paid off eventually! :D Oh.....and I've got the 'silver pedals' :D (which I always assumed were standard on all LCR's, but I'm guessing not judging for this thread!?)
