Funny one this, my back window fogs up briefly when accelerating, presumably from the exhaust. Only happens when engine is cold, and the outside temperature is cold and the air is damp.

Is this something to worry about ? There is no muck in the expansion tank, and the filler cap is clean so doubt it is head gasket.

No it's normal. Happens on my current LCR and my old one of 2 years ago.

Only happens 1st thing in the morning though, soon wears off.

That's good news then, onluy does it 1st thing for me as well.

Thought I was going mad, kept noticing window fogging and clearing when I was changing gear.

there is an old thread still going round with weird quirks of the mk1 LCR, which came out when the LCR was new...i wrote a few and here are 2 of them.

2. (automatic windows) drivers window always beats passenger one
3. nearside front standard suspension slightly higher than offside due to being built in spain (left hand drive)

Haha totally agree with points 2 and 3 there mate. The window one has always baffled me..

glad its not just me then, lol!

I sh*t myself the first time it did it, last car which did that on me the crankshaft and head gasket went at the same time producing a rather spectacular explosion of steam and oil

its not so much a rattle, more like a grinding / rubbing noise. Ive been told it could be the disc guard thing, but SEAT dont know either, they think it could be the steering rack, but conveniently would cost £700 ish to replace. Im starting to think maybe wheel bearing? but i tried looking, couldn't get the wheel off, nuts to tight, then i couldn't put the jacking point cover back, then scrathced it up when it fell off and needed to buy a new one....b4stard
