LCR Fuel Consumption...

i sort of get between 20-23 mpg as an average. mine has been mapped and the consumption is probably a bit better than before. i do have a very heavy right foot and as soon as the temperature gauge is at the middle it does get driven quite hard.
I get about 220-240 miles to a £45 tank full. I've got stage 2 Revo. The only other real expense is tyre's and brakes!
I get 27MPG from my standard LCR on average.
If I drive like a loon that can drop to early-20's. If I drive like Miss.Daisy that can rise to 30ish. But over the course of an average week, I get 27MPG and around 300 miles to a tank.

But you be in for shock come time for new pads or discs
Front pads and discs will leave you with little change out of 400 quid!, I get about 10k to pads and 30k to discs.
and as mention above rubber is not cheap for 225 40 18 either, over a hundred a corner.
BUT
It's all worth it every time you drive!

Another good option
Basically, any of the tyres you would expect to work well, work well. The popular choices are the F1's followed by the Toyos.

To be honest (as some of you may have seen from my first thread) I was 50/50 between a LCR and an RX8 as my next car (just sold my Type R) but I'm getting more and more convinced I want a LCR now... just cause I can get a better one for the money I was gonna spend and the fact that I'd get it REVO'd at my mate's place.
Oh, another thing... insurance...
Last year when I was 23 I paid £820 fully comp (12 months) with Elephant on my Type R... theyve just quoted me £837 on a 231 RX8 and it's just over 900 on a Cupra R - I'm 24 with 2 yrs no claims... would they shaft me if I declared stage 1 REVO? Anywhere else to consider getting a quote?

Check out Greenlight insurance.
I'm 23, 3 years NCB, but a SP60 ban on my licence and I pay £750 with a £300 excess with Greenlight. All mods covered like-for-like and if you take out a new policy at the moment, they will cover a remap for free

Cool ok thanks Rob, I'll give Greenlight a call... heard the company mentioned on a few forums but never tried them yet
Sky Insurance are another good one. They were 2nd cheapest for me, with similar levels of cover and the same excess. Still over £100 more than Greenlight though.

There's no F in Quality..
I get about 28mpg on the 12mile commute to work and back, and about 33mpg on the 220 mile drive down to Devon
but then if I really give it some stick I can get it below 20 !!!
As for brakes, I've just fitted new OE pads with EBC discs for under £180 (DIY fitted)

How much for the pads and discs? 
£400 for front discs and pads are rather expensive and much more than what I pay for the MX5. Does that mean the rears are also £400 (£800 all in)?
Also, I paid £55 per tyre (fitted) on my MX5 (16"). Is a corner really over £100?
I never thought about these costs on top of the fuel running costs. Maybe I should stick with the 210bhp for the time being rather than remapping and then see how the finances are going.
Greenlight insurance sounds a got alternative to Tesco (Tesco quoted me £716). If Rob pays £750 and he is 23 with 3 years NCB, I reckon I should be in the high £500s as I am 28 with 4 years NCB and my licence is completely clean since I received it 10 years ago.
Can someone confirm the pads/discs/tyre prices as well for me please as surely there can be cheaper alternatives?

18inch tyres do cost anything up to about £150 EACH! As for the 16's on the MX5, thats what I pay for my 206, so the costing is correct.
The break discs are massive! So £400 doesn't supprise me at all!
