Hi there!

Had this wonderful opportunity to hear a strange "dong dong dong" sound when letting of the throttle, or when I ex. shiftet gears...

Though it might could be some kind of a rock/stone in the tire, but did some power runs, and that should have cleared any stone!

But, it's still there!! The sound is coming from the front, and not when turning right or left, just normal straight line ...

Thought of the motor mounts, but gave the engine a some shaking, but it was pretty rock solid!

Any suggestions? Seems like the Seat must have a check at the dealer...
Ohh wtf, it pretty messed up at the moment, some garbage truck couldnt get pass, so it's blue along the right side... sometimes lifes just sucks!

sounds like your having a bit of bad luck at the moment Gubien.

im unsure on what is happening with your engine, is it still pulling strong. and its not an anti roll bar knocking while going over bumps ??

Yep, it pulls fine, actually i was in middle of some test runs, when i heard the sound.
80-120 kph in 4th 3.6 measured with Tempes GT. Seems fine. Oil ok.

But I quickly removed the focus from the power runs!

Must say I have a spec clutch and flywheel, it chatters, but havent heard anything like this before!
It's like its there on part throttle, or if I let of the gas and let it roll.

Clunking on lift-off..

Hi there,
It sounds to me as if the dogbone torque mount has started to fail.
It stops the engine from twisting while producing torque against the half shafts. You wont be able to 'rock test' it, as the front and back mounts will be strong enough to hold it upright.

Chances are you wont be able to see it where its failing, so order a front and rear set. If you can be arsed to do one, you may as well do both while youve got it prepped! If you order the parts online, you will see what your aiming for!

Get it over a pit or in the air, support the engine/gearbox just to stop any potential movement, and whip it off. Its slighty to the rear of the engine, at the bottom. If you look at the pics when ordering, you cant miss it....

The rear (oval) will simply drop in, but the front (round) may need some coercing. This should be easy enough with either a G-clamp, press, or even a smooth jaw vice. Dont forget to use plenty of the grease supplied, and take your time to make sure you start it going in square by hand! ;)

The bushes are widely available, but from jabbasport they are £33.28 for the rear, and £39.15 for the front. Or if you dont fancy doing the pressing in, a complete ready to go assembly is £83.19. If your handy with tools, and have all the kit ready to go, shouldnt take more than an hour or so.

Good luck, and happy motoring!
:D

WTF MAN!! Three of my wheels bolt were losen, and I miss my bolt caps!! Thats why the ****ing sound was there!! OMFG

Glad to hear that they didn't get away with any car parts. If my memory is right, Chrysler do a set of locking wheel nuts but have anti-theft rings on them to stop anyone smashing a socket on them, instead, it'll just keep spinning and never come off (unless you use the key). Can't remember the P/N but they were to fit the PT Cruiser.

WTF, the problem persist! Might seem like they not was attempted to be nicked, but why I miss 3 bolt caps is still a mystery!

The alloy was loose, again, 2 bolt could be tighten! WTF. Could this be down to some unstable disc(they are 1000 km new), which shake them loose?? (might be a dumb question) or just me who didnt tighten them "enough" last time??

That doesn't sound right at all. When was the last time you had the wheels balanced?

Also, is it the same wheel that this occurred on both times?

Yep, same wheel, might be a long time since they have been balanced, but the wheel are almost ready for a change.

First time i could tighten 3 bolts, yesterday 2, so hopefully thats it.. LOL

sounds wierd...

New discs you say...? Did you or your fitter put too much copper slip on the stud threads or on the mating faces of new discs/hubs? If theres too much between the discs and the hubs, the wheel studs will feel tight, but they will still work loose.

Have you any vibration on braking, cornering or accelleration? Depending on rotation of wheel, vibrations can either loosen or nip up wheel studs/nuts...:(

Have you checked the hub retainer nut, caliper mount bolts, suspension clamp bolts etc etc etc... The loosening of wheel studs may be a symptom of other suspension/braking components being loose. Get it into a garage or over a pit, and check over every component you have a spanner for!

If in doubt, pay for a professional to look at it!

I will do that! Didnt mount them myself, had a "pro"... but might just be over them at the moment, to see if they loosen or anything like it.
