LCR passenger lock problem - pls read

Hi

I have 2005 Mk 1 LCR. When I use the fob to unlock the doors the passenger door remains locked. I have to go around put gentle pressure on the top corner of the door and then pull on the handle to open. I think my door is slightly out of alignment however once it's unlocked it opens and closes fine until I lock it again the problem then repeats itself. But then saying that if it was out of alignment it wouldn't latch at all (but it does latch).

I was wondering if anyone else has had this fault as it seems to be different to other peoples on here who can't lock on unlock their doors.

Also does anyone know what the tool is called for the part where the door locks onto the B pillar as it may be a simple case on adjusting to take the pressure off.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Dnt have a clue mate but I know I have to press my unlock button twice for it to.unlock try inspect the lock switch behind door cord

I'm pretty sure it's the locking mechanism, there are some solder joints that become dry and need to be re soldered. it's a pain to do but pretty straight forward.

None of my doors except the drivers opens with the fob! I have to manually push the unlock button on the drivers door to open them including the boot! Anyone any ideas to what is causing that problem?

Sounds like a pain. Already replaced that locking mechanism about a year ago and that was a nightmare. Before I replaced it I would lock the car and sometimes it would remain unlocked on that door. Now when unlocking, it will unlock the door but you have to push on the door first then pull on the handle which makes me think it an alignment issue although the door looks like it's sitting true.

Don't take this the wrong way as I don't know if you have tried it but if you press the unlock button once on your fob it will only unlock the drivers door. But if you press it twice it will unlock all the doors.

Yeah, ive tried it mate, still nothing! IM thinking it must be something to do with coding, but i only have the one fob! Does anyone know how to do it or how much it costs to have a pro do it?

I've had this problem many times. And the way I get mine working again is if I disconnect the battery (positive connector) re connect and that gets mine working again.

I found this out when I was sitting at service station and had music and lights and heating on with just the ignition on... had to get a jump start from someone and only then realised my central locking was working again for all doors.

Leon door lock problem

I have this problem with the NSR passenger door on my Leon MK1 also

I have read elsewhere it's a well-known VW and Seat problem

A new solenoid is available on e-Bay for around £20

The pain is in the dismantling - not just the removal of the door-card but the inner skin before you can release the locking mechanism
