LCR radiator fan fuse blown

my radiator fan fuse (40 amp fuse under battery cover) has blown...anyone know why this has happened or had it happen to them?

My mate had it blow on his LCR, he had the control module replaced before figuring out that it was the fuse,replaced it and it was fine for the 3 months before he sold it

was the fuse that was the problem or the control unit?...or did the new fuse work becuase you had replaced the control unit?

my fans spin freely and silently when moved manually but the fuse has blown...is this the control unit then?...how much are these and how easy are they to fix?

I've also noticed that my air con seems to come on automatically sometimes....is this linked to the fuse blowing or something completly different?

If your fuse has blown its probably more likely that your low speed fans are knackered so they just pulse high speed, which eventually blows the fuse due to the large starting current. Its very common on this age of VAG.
