Dear All,

For some strange reason one of mine rear doors, it can be the drivers or passenger side. When I use the remote fob to unlock the car one of the rears doors sometimes does not unlock. It is deadlocked, as using the handle will not unlocked the door still.

It is only when I use the key to unlock all doors or either the unlock central locking on the drivers side door does the door unlock.

Could it be that I have'nt used the rear doors, or the battery disconnected I performed a month ago?

Regards.

I've had passenger door problems at times too. Only seems to be rare at the moment though. Can double press to unlock all doors (and i know that back doors have unlocked on at least 2 of these occasions), but the passenger door stays locked. Press the buttom inside and it unlocks...... odd!

The same thing happens to me but not all the time.

Mines is with the passenger side rear door. Some times I press twice on the remote but that doors does not open. When I pull the handle the door is deadlocked. Only way is to either use the key and unlock them all again or to press the unlock inside the car.

I am think about going to Seat, but I am not sure that it always occurs. Anyone have any ideas? My previous Jap cars never had these types of issues!!!

My last car was an impreza and i had numerous problems with the central locking on the passenger door. The rod kept on working itself loose meaning the only way i could open it was to rip the door panel off from the inside and sort and reconnect the rod.

Happened about 3 times within a year.

Ive never had a problem with the LCR's central locking:)

I had a similar problem, the back passenger door just stayed locked woldn't open no matter wot. nd no faults showed up on diagnostics. SEAT Dealer, and a couple auto electricians siad they'd have to break the door panel off to get the door open......which i didnt want to do!!!!

But took it to my local garage and after looking at it for 5 mins, disonnected a wire going into the rear door and reconnected it and door unlocked with no problems since. The wire cut the power to the door so i would assume disconnecting battery wud do same thing?

Right then car went to Seat yesterday and the problem occured many times at the garage. Anyway after 2 hours they said it needed a new lock.

It is covered under warrenty so I not to concerned, however that door was hardly ever used and now it needs a new lock!!!

Anyway these european cars are not designed as well as jap cars. This year I have had a fault once a month. In Jan it was the ABS sensor, Feb the Horn and now March the Door lock.

Are Seat, Skoda, VW and Audi this unreliable.

Rubbish mate, i'd take an Audi/BMW over a subaru/mitsubishi/toyota every time.

At least us europeans know how to design an interior, you seen the interior of jap cars:blink:

My old 'japanese' impreza was far more shoddy than my current 'spanish' car;)

The list above is hardly a reason to call it unreliable:lol: They are all tiny negligable faults.

Go over to scoobynet and search for the words ''engine rebuild'' or ''piston has just gone through the bonnet''

Then you'll find what unreliable means;)

Think your being a bit harsh tbh, when your engine blows up, then fair enough but for stupid faults like a horn and door lock, come on:rolleyes:
