LCR Tyres - Recommendation?

Can anyone recommend a decent (but not too expensive) tyre for my LCR? I currently have P-zeros but think they are a bit too soft.

Any decent brands that are better than budget but not as pricey as the top end marques?

Also, is anyone aware of anywhere cheaper than www.blackcircles.com to buy tyres from?

Cheers in advance.
Dave.

1, Use the search feature and you'll find lots and lots of opinions.
2, If you use the mytyres link on the site, not only will you get cheap tyres, but SCN will get a little bit of cash to go towards the running costs.
3, Please use the search feature...

Must be a billion threads on this!

Eagle F1's are are well thought of option, I'm gonna look at Bridgstone and BF Goodrich next though. Cos I'm awkward like.

I've tried Pzeros, Contis and F1s on the LCR. For me F1s gave the best performance and wear rate, plus nice tread pattern :)

Loads of threads as mentioned. I bought two Goodyear GSD3s for the front for £125 each fitted, balanced etc. I know people have got these for less.

The only other deal I've seen recently was Uniroyal Rainsports for about £92 each fitted - they get varying reports, but cant imagine they're too bad..

welcome :D

If you dont get F1's then the Dunlop SP Maxx or SP9000's come very highly recommended. Another amazing tire is Michelin Pilot Sports.

Didn;t think much of the Michelins, good in the dry but realy crap in the wet. Got F1's on my LC at the mo and really impressed with the grip in the wet and dry

There is no doubt that F1's are one of the best....but.... Winter is coming and I have found that F1's are useless in snow. yes I know down south this does not really matter but for me it a consideration.
Last year I fitted F1's to my Nissan 200SX and could not even get out of the street with 2 inches of snow. The road is on level ground. The old worn tyres were better.

Has anyone tried Toyo's???

LCR Tyres

Hi Dave

I've tried a few different tyres on my LCR. I liked the P-zeros, but they seemed to wear quickly, so I tried different tyres. I'm currently on Toyo T1-Rs, and I have to say that I'm quite impressed. They were about £40 cheaper each than the P-zeros and they seem to be wearing much better (though I don't think they're quite as good as the Pirellis). I also tried a BF Goodrich - wouldn't recommend them. Next, I'm going to try the Michelin Pilot Sport 2, which by all accounts are said to be pretty good.

Re Blackcircle, I found that my local supplier (Tyres Northampton) were able to supply and fit at slightly better price, but not much in it. I also found that other suppliers would price match to win the business, so ask!

Let us know what you end up with and how you get on with them.

Cheers,

Chris

Thanks Chris and all of you for your replies. Black circles was offering PZeros (Rossos, which allow for extra load) for 123 fully fitted and balanced which I didn't think was bad. The reason I ask is actually because I'm thinking of selling my baby and want to know what I can get away with putting on the car without losing the sale. I figured it probably made sense not to scrimp since I don't want the buyer to think that just settled for less than the best. He'll probably walk away thinking I put regulat unleaded in her petrol tank and things too so I'll probably just replace like for like and get some more pzeros - interestingly, blackcircles.com ain't all that given that my expensive dealer (Humphris Oxford - avoid it if you can) quoted me 115 fully fitted for the same tyre! Sounds like I might be ignoring my own advice!
