I ripped mine off the other week. They're not needed and if you've damaged them they cost about £100 for the centre and £25 for each side part.

I got mine replaced.

Personally I'd replace it, had many a speed bump scrape it so without it you might damage something:cry:

This has been covered lots of times, but the tray apprantly helps with airflow and cooling etc etc.. mine got damaged ages ago, and its a pain to remove to change oil and things so mines never gone back on.. never had any problems by not having it... You will get a bit more crap flung in your engine bay though..

Mine was broken off when I bought it a month ago- the sides are still there just not the bottom. Been told by 3 mechanics that it basically doesnt make a difference, just makes the engine a bit dirtier by it not being there. So I am definitely not paying to replace it when it is only likely to fall off again- unless someone told me a good reason why I should

The LCR undertray is long and has ductwork to direct air where it's needed in the engine bay. Other petrol undertrays are comparitively short. Diesels have a longer tray fixed on all four sides, with sound-deadening treatment.

All undertrays smooth the flow of air under the car and help the airflow through the radiator, assisting a little with stability at high speeds. They keep the underside of the engine clean and stop stones and so on getting up into the pipework. I'd replace mine if I lost it.
