rear passenger carpet was wet near door.
Having unattached rear passenger-side seat bottom, and lifted back carpet it's very wet and underly is saturated.
Front wet as well, although I've only got as far as peeling back the left corner.

Spent a while pouring water, but couldn't find any drain issues or rubber seal problems.

Washer spray fully working front and rear.

Any help in tracking it down?

Is this a job the high street chain garages can do?

Dont have much in the way of images as it just wet peeling back carpet in the rear passenger footwell.

Edit:
Possible drip between inside seal and body, behind the rubber.
Dried it all and see in the morning after the rain...

One possibly could be the heater box may be filling up with water if the drain holes become blocked and coming in through the lower heater vents .... Seen that on Audi a8 s8's
Or there may be a grommet fallen out somewhere on the bulkhead / firewall
Or possibly just a slightly split screen wash hose ?

schematic?

Is there somewhere on this site that shows pictures/schematics of where stuff is?
For the novice.

In this case:
  • drain locations
  • path of screen washer tubes
  • detailed engine bay view

Water seems to be dripping through the little hole in passenger footwell behind foam.

just inside the door at the front.

Does anyone know where this comes from?
Garage couldn't find leak.

Not allowed to post image yet...

In the leon that leak would probably be coming from the pollen filter, not sure if it's it the same place in the ibiza but i would guess so. In the leon its behind the black plastic grill below the windscreen, when your stood outside of the car by the passenger wheel.

Don't think it's the exact Leon pollen filter housing problem, but could well be a leak in a similar area.
Pollen filter sits vertically in the Ibiza.
It's accessed from the passenger footwell, but couldn't find any evidence of a leak in that area.
Replaced the (possibly original 2007) pollen filter which was black.

Haven't gone as far as removing glovebox, but removed removable panel underneath and little triangle side panel.
No sign of leak even with hose running water.

Still hunting for an image showing what could drain into the little passenger foot drain hole.

Maybe a leaking grommet, or the windscreen?
There is what looks like a rubber grommet near the passenger side bonnet hinge.

Also the scuttle plenum cover isn't sealed all the way to the end.

Is putting some grease on areas as a temporary waterproof seal to eliminate them one by one an idea?
