What about the costs at the end of the lease?

Good question.

The other half is a year into her lease, its been great so far but I'm also curious as to how things pan out when the contracts up. You're made aware of BVRA, how it gets interpreted on the day of reckoning time will tell

i agree, they were company cars and not looked after but absolutely all of them included charges for refurbishing the alloys, repair the stone chips and things of this kind that happen during the course of normal driving.

Is it worth paying extra for maintenance? Anyone got this?

Most leasing companies use the standards set by the BVRA as to what is classed as fair wear and tear or not. I have the guidance rules somewhere, and it covers stone chips in both paintwork and windscreen etc.

Some of the others I've seen are like 400 plus, was £149 2 years with 15k? I don't really want it for 3 and can't really have less than 15k

Probably the miles making it more, I miss read as 5k, so probably not that bad considering, worth popping into a dealer or ringing one as they give dealer contribution,

Yeah I've taken the day off work on Friday to go blast some round with no intention of driving them away, might go test drive a Vauxhall Astra turbo(200bhp version) as well for a laugh, even though I hate Vauxhall and everything they stand for

VWFS has a fixed price schedule of costs for excess wear and tear. I saw it over on vwroc. Seemed reasonable costs actually £40 alloy wheel refurbished for instance.

In terms of costs I have just managed to secure a Cupra Black in Dynamic (hope I like it as never seen colour in flesh) getting late November. £249 down and then 23 x £249 with 10k mileage. Well impressed with that deal. Stoneacre Peterborough. They had 2 left when I ordered on Saturday.

Cracking deal if it includes vat. Anything less than £6000 total is good over 2yrs. Mine totals about £5865 so very similar for 10k miles pa

That's what I thought, so cancelled the other at 8k £1600 deposit and £265 monthly.
Hope Dynamic looks better that Alor blue. But for £2k saving I'll live with any colour.

Most have already said on here, the Cupra Black Deal is ridiculous, if your purchased outright or through traditional finance, after 2 years it would need to be worth £25 - £26k to break even.

The deals are not even paying for depreciation, if you look on trader, 2 year old Cupra's are about £20k on average.

Mine is costing me £6350 for 2 years so take that from the list in a man maths kind of way your onto a winner, that doesn't take into consideration the finance charges.

Dynamic is nice in the flesh. Not seen it in good sunlight but you won't be disappointed. 3dr or 5dr. If 5dr that's a stonking deal.

You can get a cupra black from a broker for 23k. The lease companies will be paying no more than £20k a car.

Was this a deal on their website or did you speak directly to them? I'm quite far away but would travel for this sort of deal! Substantially cheaper than I'm finding online!

My deal from Lookers Stockport was £1562 deposit inc. first month's rental, then £260pm x 23 months, 12,000 miles. ST 290 DSG Black Edition. That's £7,500 over the two years, which it seems is more than some are paying, but I do a fair few miles. The OTR price is around £32,500 and it won't be worth anything near £25,000 in two years. Lucky if it's worth £20k.

Also, why does anyone really want to own anything that depreciates and needs increasing maintenance as it gets older?

I'm thinking of it as a long-term hire car like you have on holiday. It works out at £10 a day to drive a 300bhp hyper-hatch. You can't go wrong if you look after your cars, I don't think.

Ron, dsg adds £30 a month on the deal and yours is an ST as well. Still a cracking deal.

Yes, was the best I could find at the time on 'Contract Hire and Leasing dot com' for the mileage, which is why I went for it. I'm really happy with the deal, cheers Mr Ratty (you sound angry;))

Dynamic is awesome, you will not be disappointed!

Your deal is great, I got £2400 down and 23*£156 but only 5k miles. Arriving December. Works out to the same total as you but you have twice the miles

Did they have two at the dealership? Or are you waiting for it to be built?
