So results are in. Filled up this morning and did some calculating as I don't have a trip computer. But strangely still have the annoying beep at 4 degrees. Ace.

22mpg out of the last tank.

Will keep an eye on the next tank bearing in mind I did lose a fair amount out it when the fuel line blew off. Oh and apparently the heater for the pre cat oxygen sensor is throwing a fault. But not the actual sensor.

Saw this today and it made me think of you

Why does my car have such bad fuel consumption

. Cheers. I'm going to do 100 miles in Sealion 2 then recalculate the mpg. It's not a true test at the moment though as I haven't started my 30 mile motorway run in it yet. Plus, I have an error with the heated oxygen sensor, so I believe it's overfuelling on warmup. Which with short journeys will kill it even more. But at some point in my life, I have to break the 22mpg barrier! I was tempted to stick @Jimbobcook in the passenger seat so he could tut at me when I hit 16mph and haven't changed up into 6th!

40mph in 6th jeez lol that's on the flat though... 1st,2nd, 3rd and 4th before 30mph then 5th and 6th before 40mph. Great for slogging in 40 zones on motorways.

Interior coated all the windows (except the rear - cause it's heated anyway). Ace this morning, all the windows (except the rear) were clear!

Less than 30 minutes for all 4 windows and the windscreen. And no, I can't move my arm. But that's for various other reasons... like polishing on Sunday and then continuing to bost off rusted brake discs. Followed by having to change alternators on 2 French cars!!

The amount of waxing I've done this week. I actually now know kung-fu! The "kit" costs around £7. Just use your fav glass cleaner before you apply it. I've done 2 cars with it now. And reckon I've enough left to do about another 30 cars!

Dunno if you do the same, I wax on with the right and wax off with the left. I figure that way it keeps the guns even!

Proper mechanics arm here... The only thing my left hand is good for is dropping things on the floor. Thats why i got a machine polisher. ha!

Been there, too old for being punched in the face anymore. Put a coat of collonite on and let it bake in the summer! You'll have arms like the rock removing it. Or just take up mechanics, cause everythings rusted solid on every car I encounter. I feel like that king, but instead of turning everything to gold, everything I touch is rusted solid.

Tried to do the rear brakes yesterday. But unfortunately one of the callipers was knackered and wouldn't wind back... so now I have one side on and one calliper on order. Grrrrrrrrrr.

Filled up again today. 203 miles and used 38L. So by my reckoning that's 24mpg!! That's from an even split of 100 miles motorway and 100 miles town. Least the petrol is cheaper eh!?

So I'm not sure if this is because 1:- it's winter. 2:- it's an old engine. 3:- I have a faulty heated oxygen sensor throwing a code. I realise 3 would be the obvious choice, but I thought the heated oxygen sensor was only overfueling until the thermostat opened.

It is cold so it will be using more to get warm but that still seems excessive, im guessing the sensor is the issue.
