Leon 1.5 TSI Engine light - screen shot of codes

Hi all, returning owner here! My 3rd Seat Leon. Just had it delivered (used). Engine management light on the next day. Seller says there were no lights driving it down (150 miles) so unless they stopped around the corner and cleared the codes, it's rather unfortunate that they have popped up now. So it's either an easy fix or I need to get it back to them. The car doesn't have a MAF and I've checked for vacuum leaks - nothing obvious. I assume it uses MAP sensor/s only. The seller told me it had a new turbo and cam belt replaced before they sold it. The codes are contradicting, both lean and rich on idle. Then rich under load, plus the exhaust error. Any thoughts on the culprit? Thanks for any advice.

Searching for those codes I get these:

Was it a garage or private sale? If garage i'd be getting them to sort it!
Getting these codes after some major work was done it could be any number of things causing them!
Beyond checking that no connectors are loose/not connected after the turbo/belt job, If it was me and you can't return it to a garage - I would get it scanned with a dealer level tool to see if there is more data on what the exact fault is.

Thanks SuperV8. Is that a list of potential component issues under each fault? Yes was a garage but they are quite a way from here so was hoping to fix it myself unless it starts getting pricey. I'll see what the garage say. When I factor in fuel and train home and potentially having to go back and get it, it'll probably work out cheaper to take it to main dealer. Fortunately I did take out 18months extended warranty, but I think the first 3 months are with the garage...

I searched on my system for each of your 4x P... fault codes and it returned these lists of components which could be causing them below - so not detailed enough to just try parts roulette!

I would check nothing has been left unplugged or not connected properly around the turbo and cam belt engine area.

Spoke to the garage and they said take it somewhere local and send them the quote, so will give that a go. In the mean time, I popped the post throttle MAP sensor out, which was the easiest to get to (this model appears to have 2 map sensors, pre and post throttle, but no maf sensor) and it's covered in oil. Does the oil contamination in the picture look normal or no?

Doesn't look good to me.
Maybe you can pop some inlet hoses off 'after the turbo' - to see how bad the oil contamination is?

So, I don't know why I hadn't checked this before, but I removed the oil cap while the engine was running and there is one hell of a vacuum. Sucks my hand firmly down. Also a deep whistling sound coming from the PCV valve, but only when the cap is off.

I proceeded to remove the intake after the turbo and there's no major sign of oil, just a thin film if any. I'll pop the PCV valve off tomorrow and test it. Won't be the first car I've had a PCV valve fail.

On the down side, the EPC light came on earlier while testing, for the first time, followed by Auto Start/Stop Error on the dash screen. No new codes. Hopefully it's all related.

Morning. So the car has been back and forth to a mechanic. First they said it was the fuel pressure sensor - replaced - same errors came up before even getting home. Took it back and asked if they checked out the high vacuum. Now saying it's the PCV (part number 05e103495ae). Problem is, I already replaced this because I suspected it was faulty, so it already has a brand new one fitted which didn't resolve the high vacuum problem. I've said by all means, replace it again, but if it doesn't fix the problem, I'm not paying for it again.

Looking on AutoDoc, there is also another crank case breather (part number 04E 103 464 AD), but the mechanic is saying it doesn't come up on their system as listed for this car. Does anyone know if there are two breathers/PCV valves on this car? Engine code is DADA I believe.

LTFT (2.6%) and STFT (0.3%) seems to be stable. I'll check again later when I get the car back.

I've noticed this on my 1.5 TSI hmm

Did you get to bottom of your issues?
