Leon Back plastic panel removal!

Hi I am having trouble opening my boot in when you pull the S badge it does nothing so I need to take the back plastic panel off. I can see It is held in with metal clips but how do these come out I have tugged them and got a few out but the ones near the lock are not coming, Does the top plastic trim that goes round the window have to come out as well out any magical tips anyone?

Hi and welcome to SCN, I can't help with the q about removing panel but thought I’d just check that you have tried the key as there is two 'modes' of locking the boot, one that means that it opens with the central locking, and one that doesn't. If your boot lock is currently the latter you won’t be able to open it no matter how many times you press unlock on the key fob and pull on the S badge.

Hi thanks for the swift reply glad to be a member as well Yes I have tryed it in both positions but with no joy I have managed to put my hand up between the boot trim and the back of the seat badge but it feels as if something is broken off so now I will need to take the boot panel off to invesigate more.

As I understand it you pull like crazy, its really tough. The clips usually break so get new ones, my dealer broke all of mine (and replaced them) when I popped the rear wipe squirt off

I think you'll need to undo the two screws in the handles on the inside of the boot. Then pull like crazy!

Hi All have got it off today and yes you was all right it did break a little what a Ba****d Job. Well it looks like my handle is broken internaly so the boot latch is not working so a new one is needed unbelivabe on a 60,000 miler but as we all know it is a 2nd hand car.Thanks for all the replys and help.
