Hi All,

I love my cupra so much that I want to take it over to South Africa with me (currently in the UK).
The problem is that SA don't have the Cupra 1.8T 20v out there.

What I need to know is what other cars share the same motor?

Does the 2001 VOLKSWAGEN GOLF 4 GTi 1.8T or the Audi TT COUPE 1.8T have the same motor?

I have looked on the SA AutoTrader website and the above cars only seem to be 5 speed and no mention of the 20v's.
The only one that mentions 6 speed is 2004 Audi A4 1.8T 140kW 6-Speed .

Thanks

My Cupra is a 2001 model

The Golf will almost certainly have 150BHP on tap, as opposed to the Cupras 180.

The A4 1.8T is the one you need to be looking at, mate. As you've said.

It really depends on what goes and what you need to replace.

Very few UK spec motors are available on the continent (and beyond) and vise-versa.

The difficulty you'll have if you need something big like a gearbox, is not finding a 6spd that fits your engine ... it'll be the Golf platform (A3, Leon, Octavia) car that shares the same driveshafts etc to fit that box.
