Leon Cupra Engine Management Light (possible sale)

Hi there,

I bought a 2001 Y reg Leon Cupra 20VT recently as a stop gap as I sold my Impreza quicker than expected.

The engine management light has come on, although it still drive fine.

Is this a common problem? May be interested in a quick sale as I have now found what I am looking for and don't really have the time to sort this out.

I would get it checked out to prevent a greater problem from occurring.

Thanks for the welcome. It's a great car but found my new one now. It's not being driven to prevent any damage, but do you know if this is a common fault? There seem to be a lot of posts in the forums about it.

It could be lots of things. Might just be a sensor that's faulty which is common or could be something bigger. Only way to know is to get a vagcom diagnoses done to the car.

You certain the car drives fine?

You can't really tell what fault it is withought a diagnostic check mate. It could be anything. Where are you? I am in Kent if you need me to plug it in.

Thanks for the advice Longman.
Had it checked out and it diagnosed a misfire, although this was cleared and there was no fault. Drives fine and the light has not come on since.
