Hi all, im new to SeatCupra.Net
and have just baught a seat leon cupra 2002.
There are two things that I am a bit confused about.
1. The person who i bought it off said the car had a remap to 210 BHP about, and that the MAF sensor had been disconnect
as this is required after a remap otherwise it will not run right.
Previously I had an audi a3 1.8t which i believe has the same engine as my cupra AUQ and whilst driving it one day, it broke down and would not even run. The AA man plugged in the scanner and it flagged up Mass air flow sensor signal too low. He disconnected it and told me that the car ecu had defaulted to limp/safe mode i.e. reduced power, and could be driven home now, and so off I went, baught and fitted a new maf, and everything back to normal. P.s. the audi also had a remap.
The Seat Leon seems to drive ok, but is running without the MAF connection, and it does not feel like 210 bhp. Is this true with the SEAT, to disconnect the MAF after a remap, or is this purely a lie. If you connect the MAF, the car will not run right, however the local garage has had a scanner on the car and without the MAF it says the same i.e. signal too low, (assumable as its not connected), but with it, the car will not rev at all, but no fault was displayed as of yet?
I am worried about the car being in Safe mode hence not giving the 100% power
.
And ...
2. The symbol on the dash is on for the wheel spin logo, not the ABS light. Again, the scanner has flagged up Engine Control Module (under the ABS header), similarily, the tcs button does not seem to work at all, and no light is display or not displayed when pressing the button? Is this a module in the engine, or is it likely to be the abs pump etc?
Any suggestions for fixing the car, or any advice at all would be greatly appreciated.
Kindest Regards
