just been and got my new key cut, tryed the above guide, i put the "service key" in the ignition and turned it on and put my new flip key in the door, locked it maunally, pressed unluck it beeped once, wouldnt say it was the horn tho, and then waited the 6 seconds, when i pressed it again there was no noise and the buttons are still not working? any ides? cheers
Finally got a key, won on ebay for £9 on thursday and arrived this morning.
followed the guide and got the remote working easily enough (although I did set the alarm off)
part no. HLO 1K0 959 753 G, its 3 button but the boot doesnt do anything (yet!)
I went and got a new blade and had it cut for £5 but it needs a bit more trimming so i'll have to take it back on monday.
I tried to program the transponder but it won't let me, I deleted the old keys and rematched them ok so I know the SKC is correct so I'm guessing I need a new transponder but not sure which type? some say AKTP2 others say ID48 can anyone confirm the correct one?

In fact sack that, just ripped my spare non remote key apart and got the transponder out of that, no need for 3 keys.

Basically with my car i have the normal key (not the remote locking key) and a remote locking key.
The remote locking key unlocks tha car as it should, however does not start the car, the warning light on the dash comes up.
i tried the method above by putting my normal key (not the remote locking key) in the ignition and locking the car manually etc with the remote locking key. However it didnt make a beep or anything and didnt work.
Does it have to be done with 2 remote locking fobs? Or can i use my normal key?

If it wont start off the key then its not the remote its the transponder chip that need programming. This can only be doen using the correct equiment not the key in the door method.

Where did you buy the key and who made the new key blade cut? Is it working perfect in your car?
Im sure theres a reason how he can do it - Its incredible.
I took a physical kiey into timpson, first time didn't go in the lock, next time it did. Didn't unlock though.
